My wife, our dog & myself poppe in to the Rum & Crab for a bit to eat & a drink 31st Oct. W decided to go there as dogs whee allowed in the front lounge, bar area. It’s a lovely place o chill out & the food is equally great. We had Dead Man’s Fingers Ribs which were absolutely delicious followed by Teriyaki Crab Claws which was perfect. Whilst we were here a couple came in who never had crab before but they had it explained to them how to extract all the meat & they enjoyed every part of the experience. We then followed up our meal with an Espresso Martini which was the best 1 we had to date( believe me, we’ve had a few). I would highly recommend this place. Awesome

I love seafood and have eaten crab all over the world. So I was really looking forward to trying a whole crab at this well reviewed place.

In the event my crab was almost inedible. Clearly overcooked, it was dry and completely tasteless. The chips were nice though:-)

As regulars to St Ives we had never tried the Rum and Crab Shack despite recommendations from family and friends. Well this week we visited twice and were not disappointed. Excellent food, good service and great atmosphere. For all this time we have missed out and would definitely visit again.

Poor service .... ‘orrible beer .... as much atmosphere as a morgue .... don’t bother !!!
Sat in the corner table waiting for promised cocktails .... ended up finding them on the bar whilst the barkeeps served other “guests” ...........

Was looking forward to the fantastic vegan options and enjoyed the great atmosphere overlooking the harbour. Food was tasty but portion size was tiny. The vegan jambalaya looked like a stater and the jackfruit burger was devoured in seconds by our teenage kids. At £8.95 it didn’t even come with fries...
We had to but food on the way home!!
Such a shame as there is so much potential.
We are regular visitors to St Ives but will not be returning to eat there. :-(
