“A Hidden Gem (literally!)”
Reviewed 9 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We have had a lovely stay at the Net Loft, we visited in February and had some high winds and heavy rain, the Net Loft made the holiday great despite the weather!

Full of character and charm, modern and recent refurbishment, a kitchen well stocked with self catering pans and utensils. Big tv and comfy sofas to choose from.

A very reasonable price for the location and quality of the flat and friendly attentive responses from the owners.

A small quirk which will be a bonus for some and a down side for others. The bed really is in a rather tight space (as you can see in the photos), which was novel for us, but may not be to everyone's cup of tea (no headboard so no sitting up in bed, at all.). Anybody with any form of mobility issue or even trouble sleeping in different places may struggle. But it is a nice change from a standard double bed!

Another odd quirk was that the ally had street lighting during daylight hours bet whenever we came back in the dark anywhere from 7pm onwards the lighting was all off and had to use a torch to unlock the door!

Location is not best if driving, needed to use a car park a bit of a walk away (especially with bags) that costs for 24hr or 7 day tickets. But the location is perfect for the holiday, right on the main street and one minutes walk from most of the dinner venus.

Would recommended to any couple looking for a unique self catering mini break in St Ives.

Sorry about the different weather ! Glad you liked our net loft, and enjoyed it's cosy quaintness ! It is an over 200 yr old net loft after all, albeit converted hopefully keeping it's character into the 21st century.
We agree it's very different from all the boxes out there that's for sure, which is probably why we like it so much ! Thanks again for your custom and please come back and stay again soon.
Regards,

Tim & Karen

“Quaint and quirky - the Net Loft location MADE our holiday!”

A relaxing weekend in the St Ives sunshine is what we wanted - and that's exactly what we got. OK Tim and Karen didn't organise the perfect weather, but the Net Loft made the getaway even more wonderful. We couldn't have picked a more perfect place to stay for our winter hideaway than the Net Loft. - thank you!

Location - couldn't be better. You can drive up to the front door to load and unload (although do it quickly or risk bringing St Ives to a standstill.) 5 minutes walk to the Island car park which in the Winter months we had no problem finding a space in for the entire weekend. You're right on the main shopping street - next door to an awesome fudge shop - and one row back from the St Ives harbour and hub of activity. restaurants are in abundance with the nearest opposite your front door. I went out in my PJs to the Fish and Chippy at one point and we successfully rolled back from the Sloop Inn after one too many Rattlers local ciders. It's all that close by! Not noisy in the slightest though, as you're up above street level and tucked away in a courtyard.

Nice, spacious, hot powerful shower, plenty of clean fluffy towels - bathroom ticked all the boxes.

Modern, spacious more than amply equipped kitchen - tick, tick, tick.

Plenty of sofa seating and MASSIVE telly - me and the other half had a sofa each to sprawl and chill out on for watching TV (evenings in St Ives in the winter are quiet, so we enjoyed relaxing in front of the box in comfy surroundings with a takeaway on two of our three evenings.)

Bedroom is, well, for little athletic people - it's quaint to climb the authentic stairs to the mezzanine and the bed was comfy and clean. There just isn't a lot of head room and getting out to go to the loo in the middle of the night couldn't be done without waking the other person. But I'm just 5' and the other half is 5'10" and we just about fit. So no biggy. When you've got nothing to get up for in the morning, who cares?!

Heating - if you need it, it's easy to use and super quick to heat up the loft after a brisk walk by the beach.

Plenty of light, natural and artificial.

Storage - of a premium (as I suspect it is in any small holiday let) so pack light and live out your suitcase. (We hid ours behind one of the sofas under the stairs and it didn't get in the way at all!)

I'd say the Net Loft is perfect for a Winter break - great for a couple, or small young family as there is space for a travel cot/crib in the main living area. Could possibly want to be closer to the family friendly beaches if you have kids and sand castle building kit to carry, but for a couple the walk is enjoyable and no real distance. Go on. Book. You won't be disappointed. Thanks again, Tim and Karen.

Liked best: Location, location, location.
Liked least: Bathroom could do with an update, but it wasn't a big deal - just felt a bit 'behind' considering the obviously brand new kitchen set up.
