Beautiful quiet place, owners take lots of pride in what they do, well looked after land, animals and garden. The cottage equipped to very high standards, every detail is well thought through, a touch of quality everywhere. Very good heating system with wireless control, even at a cold evening, the cottage can be wormed up in few minutes.
We used regularly fresh vegetables and apples from the garden, the location is good to explore Cornwall.
We last visited this part of Cornwall forty years ago - a lot has changed. After much research, we were fortunate to come across Boscrowan Farm as the base for our holiday. We chose Peace and Plenty and we were not disappointed. On arrival, we received a very warm welcome from the owner (and her two dogs and cat) and after a short introduction to the cottage we sat down to enjoy an excellent Cornish cream tea.
The cottage was exceptionally clean and well-equipped with some nice and unexpected extras. We have stayed in a a number of Premier Cottages over the past 5 years, and Peace and Plenty was definitely one of the best. We could have lit the large wood-burning stove but elected not to do so as the cottage was already at a nice, comfortable temperature. The living and sleeping levels are reversed which means that the bedroom is cool which is something that we prefer.
Unlike some cottages that we have stayed in - things work. There is good wifi throughout the cottage, and the power of the shower is second to none. Access to the property is also very good (unlike some where the owner forgets to mention that a 4 by 4 might be helpful) and, although it is close to some useful local amenities, the cottage is very quiet by night.
The owner’s two ambassadors make daily calls to check on their guests’ welfare. We found that the occasional dog biscuit in return was much appreciated.
Boscrowan Farm is an ideal holiday location and the owners (Elizabeth and David) go out of their way to make the holiday special. If you are thinking of visiting Cornwall, then Boscrowan farm should be at the top of your list.

My partner and I stayed at peace and plenty with my 11yr old daughter last week and its safe to say none of us wanted to leave. The week was over far to soon. Before booking i had researched the farm on here and compared against many others and this had been the only one with not one negative review...my expectation was well and truly raised and i must say that owners Elizabeth and David did not disappoint. The house and garden were splendid, the beds super comfy, the peace plentiful and the owners genuinely friendly and welcoming without being overbearing or intrusive. My daughter,Aemelia made friends with the animals on the farm on day one and owners Elizabeth and David made her feel included and welcome daily and allowed her to help out with the feeding of the animals every morning and night. Nothing was too much trouble for Elizabeth or David and if they saw Aemelia walking about the farm they would stop what they were doing to engage with her. As a mum I wanted somewhere nice to stay, that was safe to explore and where Aemelia wouldn't be seen as a nuisance for wanting to be around the animals..... This was exactly what I got and we definitely plan on returning in the future.
This was our first visit to Boscrowan Farm and what a treat!.
Ring and Thimble is a fabulous thatched cottage and the quality of accommodation is of an extremely high standard. Elizabeth and David Harris are excellent hosts and we could not think of anything that would have made our stay more enjoyable.
On arrival we were warmly welcomed and provided with a most welcome cream tea after being 'shown the ropes'. There was a fuel-burning stove in the lounge (which is most comfortable) and an AGA in the kitchen; both of these facilities were a novelty to us but were reasonably quickly mastered.
I regard myself as being a relatively light sleeper but I can report that Ring and Thimble Cottage is one of the quietest places I have ever stayed.
As 'townies' we do not often have the opportunity to feed chickens and ducks (or cats and dogs for that matter) and this was a real treat for us. I would have quite happily spent more time in the cottage and around the farm but my wife felt that we really ought get out and explore this wonderful part of Cornwall.
Despite her business commitments Elizabeth generously gave her time as she enthusiastically talked to us about the restoration of the farm buildings and all sorts of other 'country' matters. Our last memory of Boscrowan is of Elizabeth holding open the gate and waving is off, in the pouring rain, as we left the farm.
Elizabeth and David have created a wonderful holiday experience at Boscrowan and thoroughly deserve their numerous Gold Awards. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Ring and Thimble Cottage at Boscrowan Farm and wish Elizabeth and David every success in the future - they both work incredibly hard and deserve it!
Now I must make this clear. We visited Boscrowan in May 2010 and again in May 2012, not in 2013. However, I was not aware that it was on TripAdvisor and I wanted to put this right by adding a review. We stayed in the cottage, Ring and Thimble. When one arrives at the cottages, the first thing that is apparent is that this is a very pretty location tucked away well away from the road. The second vision is that of Elizabeth's beautiful garden which lies opposite the cottages. The cottages are filled with everything one could want and more besides. The quality of the renovation and furnishings are of the highest quality. A considerable amount of thought has been put into making one's stay in the cottage a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. In the kitchen of Ring and Thimble there is a cooker and an Aga. I had no experience of using an Aga but during our stays I used nothing but the Aga. Elizabeth and David, both very busy people, are approachable and extremely friendly whenever one needs them and they always make time to chat to you. There are a couple of dogs and cats who become your friends during one's stay! There are very pretty hens wandering around and one can purchase their eggs which are very flavoursome. We saw baby ducks being incubated. There are herbs growing in pots around the cottage for one's use. In the cottage, when one arrives, are vases of flowers from Elizabeth's garden in all the rooms. There is a roll top bath in the bathroom as well as a shower. In the sitting room are files with leaflets and booklets telling one everything that one needs to know about the area, where to visit, where to eat etc etc There is nothing, absolutely nothing that I can fault from our 2 stays at the cottage. We shall be returning again and again over subsequent years. The location is a good one for visiting, Sennan Cove, Lands End, St Michaels Mount, Mousehole and many other places, nothing is too far away.
