Had a really nice evening here. met up with old friends. We arrived a bit late but were warmly welcomed, by staff and friends which led on to a lovely relaxed meal. We all really enjoyed the food, wine and conversation. A good night, simples.

Went for dinner and had a delicious strawberry daiquiri made from real strawberry’s (sounds silly but unusual for some places to use them). My mum was unfortunately driving so had the blueberry mocktail which was equally as delicious.
For dinner I had the hot seafood platter, absolutely gorgeous fresh food. The tartare sauce was obviously homemade and was perfect as very chunky which I like. Everything was very well seasoned and cooked perfectly, the bread was also fantastic.
Really enjoyed our visit, they also had a great playlist!!!
Would definitely go again and recommend.

Small restaurant, warm and cosy with friendly and attentive service. I had the Cornwall sole filet with crab and my wife the seafood plater. The fish was superbly cooked: firm, melt-in-the-mouth flesh with a variety of subtle sauces, served with lightly cooked seasonal veggies and new potatoes. A real treat and one of the best meals we had in Penzance.

We went here for an anniversary dinner and loved the food (great fish dishes) but the atmosphere was unfortunately completely lacking for an evening meal. Bright lights, poor background music.
However, lovely staff who were very friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are delighted you enjoyed the food and our staff.

Obviously music is a personal preference and we appreciate that our playlists cannot please all. We find, however, that the majority thoroughly enjoy them.

As to lighting, the Bistro is based in a historic building rather than a purpose built restaurant. This impacts on what can be achieved with lighting and seating but, again, we find that most customers appreciate the building for what it was and the history it holds.

It is unfortunate that these elements were not for you.

I have been meaning to do this since our last visit and was reminded when I was thinking of where I can take my parents. This came to mind straight away and reminded me to review it.

Each course was beautiful with the freshest ingredients and served by friendly staff. It never fails to disappoint and I highly recommend this restaurant. The standard is consistently excellent and we always look forward to eating there. Go!
