We had eaten a good breakfast, driven over to St. Just and Botallack Mine area, walked around in the wind and rain and were looking forward to visiting Gino's as we had noticed it the previous afternoon while walking the Promenade. What we hadn't noticed, however, was the open/closed times. By the time we cleaned up a bit from the rain and mud (this was the only rain ~ about three hours worth ~ we experienced in England for the 10 days we were there so I'm certainly not complaining) and walked to the restaurant, it was closed and wouldn't open for abut three hours.
We decided to just walk a bit and pass the time and were the first patrons inside as soon as the doors opened! Service was good but not exceptionally fast (maybe we were just famished) but the wait was well worth it. Salad, pasta dishes, garlic bread, fizzy drinks ~ all were great.
The place was filling up fast by the time we left and I can understand why ~ I would certainly stop by again if ever in Penzance.

Spent a lovely evening here for the last night of our holiday.
Everything about Ginos was really good and we look forward to coming again next year. Thank you.

Stopped into our favourite Penzance restaurant for our yearly dinner after a long trip in the Isles of Scilly before catching the train the next day back to Norfolk.

We dropped into this most understated Italian restaurant in the shadow of the Queens Hotel and what a surprise.
Wonderful pasta dishes with wonderful friendly service and such a great views over Mounts Bay. We would definitely recommend a visit to this hidden diamond of Penzance, forget the fish...

Called in on spec and the staff were friendly and had a table I could use. I ordered lasagne and was told that they had sold out the previous night and the fresh batch would be another 30mins. I found this very odd but settled for the spaghetti bolognese. It arrived quickly and was nice and hot. I had no complaints about the food but it was lacking in something. I would not say this is a bad restaurant but it’s not got that special something to make it stand out as a top class Italian.
