We went in here one wet day and were surprised at the high level of cooking. I had a a scallop salad - amazing - and others had delicious soup and yes, the chips are brilliant. There was a small fuss because the one juice had run out and someone whizzed off to the co op for a carton of not particularly nice stuff which was a shame!
I was surprised the food was so good partly because we had gone there one night previously just for cocktails. I requested a vodka Martini which was greeted with some bemusement and their attempt was not great - I think they made it with 2 parts Martini to one of vodka instead of the other way round! Obviously the chef is more world wise than the bar staff.
Great place though - long may it prosper.
