This place is definitely worth a visit. It seems a bit weird at first, the landlord basically rents out the ground floor of his 3 storey town house so he is about. But once he's introduced himself and given some very useful advice about Chester you don't see him again (if you do it doesn't matter he's really nice).
The room has a king size bed which is very comfy. The ensuite bathroom has plenty of hot water and a powerful shower.Theres even a quirky mini kitchenette with a fridge, microwave and a mini oven. There's a complimentary brekkie basket which was a wonderful added touch. Its about 10mins walk from the pubs and shops of Chester. Canal View is clean, secure and good value for money. Well worth a visit. We will be going back next time we are in Chester.
Canal Veiw is located on the canal side 10 minuets from the city.
Parking is limited but secure in a gated area. The kitchenette is small but adequate with the sink hidden under the work surface and a toaster in the cupboard and small oven below the sink .A microwave is ideal for heating small meals.A fridge is also in the room. cuttlery , cups and plates provided.
The bathroom is of a big enough size with a nice shower big enough for two.
The bed is a double and very comfy and by the french windows a table and chairs, ideal for breakfast with a lovely veiw.
The room is lockable at all times
The breakfast basket provided was well thought out with cereal boxes ,ham, cheese.pastries, fruit juices, cereal bars and of course tea and coffeewith milk.
Ken was always on hand when neede to be but not in your face and dealt quickly with a couple of enqueries.
Lots of info on the city and places to see and eat at are available.
All this made our a stay more enjoyable and Ken made us feel welcome.
I look forward to staying again when next in the city

A lovely room with a view of the canal and one of the towers which are part of the Chester City Walls.
As well as the usual comfy bed, en-suite shower room, kettle and TV the owners have fitted a tiny kitchen into a built in wardrobe. This has been kitted out with a microwave oven, a really dinky oven, a fridge and a sink for the washing up! You are provided with a basket of breakfast goodies to last for your stay and these we enjoyed whilst gazing at the view through the french doors which during a Summer stay we would have opened up.
The host/owner is on site so is on hand to answer any questions and offer advice on places to visit and is also keen to have feedback on any of his guests experiences for future reference.
The room is perfectly placed for walking the walls and visiting the city with all of its history to explore. The racecourse it also a few minutes walk away so this would be the ideal place to get ready for a day at the races.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to return next year.
Lovely self contained double room...built in small kitchen ( in the cupboard, very quirky)..lovely ensuite...best bit was sitting in front of the open Juliette balcony in the evening sun sipping prosseco :) waterfall sounds amazing and really relaxing. Lovely to wake up to the ducks and view...place really in a fabulous location and a nice stroll into town... Can recommend eating at the Telford's warehouse over the road literally... Lovely sitting out when sun is shining too... Def recommend the chicken in peppercorn sauce ( to die for). And the restaurant over the road from the racecourse ( not sure of the name) has a huge beer garden and nice food set in lovely grounds...is also a nice place to sit in the afternoon sun. Ian the owner is very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.. Will defiantly recommend staying here and hope to return again in the near future... :)
