Went there Saturday on way to Telford from Anglesey, been here a few times but I have to say the cafe is looking very tired, seats were marked and covering threadbare tables also have seen better days, food was ok and a nice cup of tea.
Plants always look lovely, but cafe area needs some TLC.

This is a large, well kept garden centre. There is a wide range of plants and they are in good condition.

The café is a bit shabby, but OK.

We would go again.

Went today with husband to take my 95 year old father for a lunch. Settled for home-made soup and sandwiches, since the food congealing under the hot lights didn't look inviting. For just under £8 per head this too was disappointing. Soup lacked flavour apart from a strong note of cabbage-water. At this price, the budget could have run to a few herbs and a bit of garnish. Sandwiches were boggo sliced wholemeal enclosing a minimal amount of yesterday's congealed ham with elastic rind and flabby fat. But the free-range egg was worse. Mixed with so much mayonnaise that it no longer had any egg characteristics, it liquefied the bread and oozed randomly everywhere. Staff were pleasant, if apparently rushed to panic point, though the cafe was hardly half full. We decided to finish with ice cream and went to the counter where hot drinks and ice cream are served. We were shouted at by a rude member of staff and told to queue for ice cream on the opposite side of the till to the freezer. The member of staff serving ice cream was both competent and pleasant, but the whole experience was negative. Even the carpet was tatty and the floor smeared.

It was my Birthday so we decided to book for afternoon tea which is from 14:00hrs until 15:30 as the resturant stops serving at 16:30 (Sunday). It happened to be Bank Holiday weekend so it was very busy in the garden center & resturant. Our arrival wasn't the best as they seemed not to know of our booking & a table had to be cleared for us.
The situation began to improve when a young lady Jodie came to serve us she was very polite & helpful. Apparently, you have to choose from from a selection of sandwich fillings but i requested an assortment which she agreed to ask if this was possible & our request was promptly agreed ! i have to say the food was very good & good value for £9:95p each person.
The resturant is a large open plan with self service local sourced food which is very good as I have dined there in the past. At the rear there is a nice play area for young children. The only negative ist that the chair seats are very worn & tired looking not in proportion with the decor.
