“Lovely holiday cottage”

Beautiful house in a peaceful location, immaculately kept and really comfortable and modern. We wanted for nothing and settled in really quickly. The house is only 5 years old so all the modern comforts are there but it has lots of charm, with sloping ceilings, log burner and little tiny doors to storage areas within the roof voids in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Loved breakfast on the patio watching the birds a few feet away on the bird feeder in the tree. One morning we watched a woodpecker hammering at a wooden post on a neighbouring barn! Never seen one before.

A short drive away is the village of Malpas (for local shops) and there's a Sainsbury's on the way to the house from Chester if you need to stock up.

We enjoyed trips to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Beeston Castle - a steep climb but a great view on a good day. The aqueduct is free to walk over and worth a trip (unless you're afraid of heights!). We also visited Chester, Chester Zoo and Cheshire Oaks, about half an hours drive or so.

We had a really relaxing few days at Ashgrove House and would love to visit again. The free wifi and a good pub virtually on the doorstep were a bonus! Lovely to meet Shirley and Cliff, and they are right to be proud of this lovely house they have built. Thank you.

“Superb place - great for kids!”

We spent a week in the house with my two kids who are under two. Shirley and her husband were great hosts providing extra cots and highchairs. Nothing was too much trouble. The house is extremely well kitted out and modern with a fab kitchen and all you need. Location is great and all kids attractions were nearby within 30 mins. Pub which is 2 mins away is also great and convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

“You helped make my 30th Birthday a memory to never forget”
Reviewed 18 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed from Friday - Monday for a long weekend to celebrate my 30th Birthday.

Such a beautiful house, as soon as we pulled onto the drive we were pleased with the outside and how lovely it looked.

Then we entered inside to explore, a stunning house in gorgeous grounds. The garden is extremely well maintained and everything was in place. The bedding and towels were made up neatly and the rooms were spotless.

The beds were comfortable and when the blinds were down for a goodnights sleep, no light was getting through. The bathrooms were clean as were the toilets.

I can honestly say I have never visited anywhere as kitted out as this holiday let. Everything you could ever imagine was left. From teabags to fly spray to slow cooker - fantastic! i

The location is pretty quiet but with a lovely pub next door but one if you fancy heading out. We went for a spot of lunch, but for the rest of the time did not leave the grounds of the house, BBQ was there for us to use as was pots and pans etc.

An amazing place to stay - I am 100% certain that my friends and I shall return again.

Thank you so much for all you supplied and for helping to make my birthday a special one to remember!

THE BEST ACCOMMODATION I THINK I HAVE EVER STAYED IN!

“Excellent accomodation and perfect for visiting Chester”
Reviewed 17 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The house is the perfect home from home. There was everything we needed for a family holiday and all the furnishings and fittings are top quality. It is a 20 min easy drive to Chester. It was the perfect base for seeing the surrounding area. There is no phone reception but WiFi was provided. We will hopefully be back in the future.

“Fabulous Country Weekend Wedding”
Reviewed 4 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Ashgrove House was positioned between the church in Malpas and Cherry Hill, the marquee reception venue and was perfect in that and every other way. As an extended family staying to attend my nieces wedding it was the best solution for us when small children were involved. The bonus was that it was so well equipped with everything of the highest quality and we wanted for nothing. I would recommend this property without any second thoughts and we will all definitely be back.
