We rented two rooms at the Railroad Lodge when we were in town for the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. We thought the rooms were comfortable, and the short walk from the train station convenient. It was a short taxi ride to the city centre. Anthony is an excellent host. He recommended a few restaurants a short walk away, and offered a few tips to make our brief stay in Cambridge easier and more enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed in this guest house for a night.
The room was small but all the essential was present (wardrobe, television, table, ecc..).
The forniture is quite old but everything look clean and tidy.
My room was at the ground floor so I was awaken but other customers having breakfast in the nearby hall.
The fare is cheap if you consider that I just showed up without advance booking and a abundant English breakfast was included (not self-service but served).
The staff is usefull and helped me with some information I needed about a local bank branch.
The position is very convenient to the train station and it's around 15 minutes walk from the main touristic attractions.

We were only in Cambridge for one night and this B&B was perfect for us. We arrived on the train and it was just a short walk away from the station. It was a 15-20 minute walk into the town.
The en-suite room was absolutely fine, very clean and comfortable (although a bit too warm!). Breakfast was lovely and included in the room rate, which was excellent value.

You can have all the cathedrals and monuments in the world, but it's the people that make places, and this place was no exception, with a very polite, helpful and personable host. Food quality was excellent, and the room clean and comfortable. Probably the best value for money that we have come across on a seven-week tour of Europe and the UK. Free internet was a bonus.

Room Tip: Our room was on the ground floor at the front, within a few metres of the road, but we were undestur...

After attending a wedding in Sleaford (23rd), we were at a loose end as to how our time would be occupied, before I myself had to return to Inverness (27th), so as my husband had arranged to go to the annual folk festival (28th), we decided on Cambridge. Nowhere booked so pot luck is the order of the day. Try somewhere near the station. Found the Railway Lodge......and what a find! In the height of summer when the town is bursting with people, Tony took us in for two days, before he too was full up with festival goers. Brilliant breakfast and comfortable rooms. Highly recommended.
