Had a lovely five night stay ; hotel is very clean, the staff are wonderful, thoughtful and friendly, we had a room at the top of the three flights of stairs , no lift , but the room was spotless, bedding clean and bed comfortable, tea, coffee hot chocolate, biscuits all redone every day. Shower room was small but all clean , towels nice, shower gel etc provided. Really looking forward to seeing the improvements , but would recommend as a great location, we ate at the Arundel hotel , which is part of the same family, food was great as was the staff , have to mention, breakfast was top notch at the Ashley .

Beware folks, the beds are comfy and the rooms are warm but any keycard can unlock any room.

We had to barricade the door with two chairs pushed together against the wall due to the card issue and our room lock being broken.

On the up side, the room is clean and warm. It’s a bit old fashioned as you see in the pictures but it’s comfy.

There are building works on the back of the hotel which are a bit of an eye sore.

Beds are comfy and rooms clean. However, room keys are able to open every room and therefore, we had people on two occasions coming into our room while we slept. The locks to the room are also broken.

Negative and positive aspects. Booked 3 nights last week. Reception not available until 3.00 pm. Otherwise need to check in at sister hotell approx 15 minute walk away. Positive is available parking and nearby pub for lunch. Decor is tired and there is a notice stating that will be upgrading. Positive comfortable bed and room and excellent staff. Shower is poor.

Most negative was outside ground works going on. We were on a window table for breakfast but second day digging taking place right outside window. Very noisy. Also we’re ask d not to use the Ayer for 15 minutes because of the works. Thankfully just got out of the shower.

Had an Evening meal at sister Hotel, Arundel and it was superior to the Ashley. Obviously that hotel is more expensive. At just over £100 per night per double room felt that it as not worth the money, given the ongoing works.

This is a small hotel situated slightly outside the city but with great comfort. Not having seen other rooms, but our room was absolutely great! Large, with great beds, well equipped, we felt like visiting the queen's castle. It surpassed our expectations.
The young lady at the reception was absolutely friendly, the breakfast offered various choices, from continental to English, nothing was missing.
Car parking directly behind the house.
WiFi had some login router problems, so we could not use it, but sincerely, we did not care much about - we enjoyed our room and the city.
We enjoyed greatly, and whenever coming back to Cambridge, Ashley Hotel will be the first place to look for the room.

Room Tip: Ask for a family room....
