As two-day visitors to the centre of Bristol, we needed an early evening meal and stumbled across the Quakers Friars branch of Cote Brasserie. The service, food and wine were all very much to our liking and on the basis of not wanting to seek out somewhere that might have been less so, we ate there the following night also. Again, all very enjoyable.

Walked to a table outside that was not cleared. Dirty looks from staff no 1 as we proceeded to move debris. Staff no 2 proceeded to take order. Shrugged at suggestion fo alternative to prosecco. Not a very welcoming or first impressions. Surly staff with attitude. Staff no 2 served order and raised a smile. Overall trend was upwards with smiles and helpfulness of everyone approached. The manager/owner needs to understand there are many options to his venue within seconds, first impressions do count, I was initially going to get up and go next door! Upside, very clean, excellent wines and pricing good. Will give it a second try. Manager...... staff may need further training in customer welcome.

I've been to many Cote restaurants and I'm pleased to say that this one in Bristol didn't disappoint. The food is always well cooked and, as importantly, the alcohol is very reasonably priced.

The tuna in my salad nicoise was nice and pink and I also tasted my wife's chicken dish which was very tasty.

As per usual the staff were excellent and the Welsh manager was very engaging.

Good service, reasonably priced and tasty food. Watch out for the gratuity as it is already added on the bill which we hadn't noticed and tipped twice

We stopped for coffee initially during our Wallace and Gromit Tour then I decided to stay for a cheeky glass of wine whilst my husband and son went off looking for a few more statues..... no quibble at all during late lunch time that was all we wanted.boys returned and we decided to have a small snack........my 11 year old had fish goujons from child’s menu and waitress warned the portion was small but for what it was it suited him fine and at £5.50 great value....I had the fanned garlic bread and mixed olives and hubs had charcuterie starter at just under £8. All food superb, tasty and took us back to our Easter trip to Brittany. Great service and just as food arrived heavens opened and everyone helped us get inside and staff ensured bag and valuables all accounted for too. A fab find, excellent food and service regardless of how much or little you decide to spend. Thank you and we will be back when next in Bristol.
