“Lovely cottage,welcoming owner”
Reviewed 20 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed at Longwood cottage with my elderly parents and our 3 dogs. The cottage suited us all with good access inside the cottage and plenty of room for my dads wheelchair in the twin bedroom. The dogs loved the field and woods for easy walks.the surrounding area offers lots of visitor options.the Engine Shed cafe in Ross does great cake! The cottage location is very peaceful, all you hear at night is owls! The views from the lounge and outside seating area is glorious.Thank you to Veronica for a great stay in her lovely cottage,we were all warm and comfortable NB;The slope up to the cottage is quite steep with a wheelchair and the irregular surface on the parking area can be a bit difficult if you are not steady on your feet.

Thank you Helen for taking the time to place this review. We are so pleased to you enjoyed your stay with us - not an easy combination with dogs and elderly family. Hope you managed a little rest. Our thanks too for leaving the cottage in such a clean and tidy condition.

“Peaceful, idyllic countrycottage to recharge the batteries!”
Reviewed 20 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Just returned from a lovely restful short break at Longwood Cottage. It was all just perfect!
The accommodation was clean, comfortable, well equipped and furnished but homely too. Veronica and Ken made us all feel so welcome- even the 3 standard poodles who accompanied us and made it clear it was their favourite holiday spot in the whole world!!
The cookies and yummy home made blackcurrent jelly to greet us on arrival and the welcome pack for the dogs (treats, poo bag, wash mitts and information on walks + dog-friendly pubs) were both lovely surprises!
We were so lucky with bright sunny days which set off the wonderful autumn colours against the clear blue sky. Walking in the private woods with the dogs was such a treat and seeing a herd of deer across the way in a field one evening made it all very special for us.
A lovely peaceful location with wide ranging country views and lots of great places to visit quite close-by and a cosy cottage to return to. Truly dog-friendly too. We all had a great little break and hope to make it an annual visit in the future.

“Absolute Peace !”
Reviewed 25 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

What a surprise we had with Longwood Cottage! Last minute booking so can never be sure. However it couldnt have been better. The accomodation had everything we needed. It was very clean and the towels, bedding were to a very good standard.
We met Veronica (owner) on the first day shortly after settling in and she is so lovely and helpful with information about the locality. Also we met her Labrador / Retrievers , nice dogs.
The views from the cottage are stunning. Watch the Buzzards above, cattle in the fields, race horse training in the distance, its hard to leave the cottage. Lovely walks from the cottage. Local villages and Pubs in walking distance for walkers. Ross on Wye , Ledbury, Hereford all a short drive away..
The Welwyn Arms nice for lunch carvery. Westons the cider makers do an interesting tour.
Great place to stay if you want peace and quiet, we loved every minute !
