Firstly please check the dates of other reviews. The holiday cottages have only been run by the current owners since 2016 and they have obviously spent a lot of time and effort transforming them in to beautiful, extremely well equipped cottages. You can therefore ignore the reviews prior to their ownership.

We were met by Matt (one of the owners) who had already called us on route to advise the cottage was ready if we wanted to check in early before the advertised check-in time. Throughout our stay he offered a friendly helpful service where nothing was too much trouble. As stated in previous (recent) reviews, there was a fabulous welcome pack including freshly baked items, the cottage (Wood View) was fitted out to a very high standard, and all our needs for an enjoyable stay were catered for. There was nothing that they had not thought of.

The location is tranquil and quiet, yet located near enough to other places for us to explore both north and south coast beaches with ease. As most of the north coast beaches are dog friendly, Max our dog loved the stay too! For walking the dog, would highly recommend Holywell Bay, Perranporth/Perran Sands, and inland, Cardinham Woods. We would recommend Mount Pleasant Holiday Cottages (under the ownership of Matt & Chloe) without hesitation and will definitely use them again when we visit this part of Cornwall! Well done to them both on developing very quality self-catering cottages during the relatively short time they have owned them!!

Thank you for your kind words and for chosing us for your stay in Cornwall.

We have put a lot of effort into the cottages so it is nice to know that it is appreciated.

It was a pleasure having you here to stay and hopefully we will see you again soon.

My wife and I plus the dog enjoyed a 3 night stay at Mount Pleasant Holidays. The owners, Matt & Chloe, gave us a really warm welcome. Our cottage was sparkling, had been freshly renovated with modern fittings and was dog friendly. There were lots of extra little touches that some self catering cottages just don't provide, such as ground coffee and cafetiere. The location worked really well as it is within an easy drive of many of Cornwall's major attractions. We had a lovely break and hope to return soon.

Have just returned from Mount Pleasant Holidays.
As we drove through the Bodmin Moor to our holiday cottage we knew we were in for a treat and we were not disappointed.

A very warm welcome from Mr Carey was followed by a tour of our home for the week. On entering the accommodation we were met by the gorgeous smell of homemade scones and bread, both still warm from the oven. They were part of a fantastic welcome hamper filled with local produce a gift from the owners.
Our cottage was called Tree Tops. Beautifully finished to a modern very high standard we were delighted to find that the bedrooms are downstairs leaving the fantastic views of the grounds, trees and plants for the living accommodation.
Our first impression was one of space and light . Under floor heating made the cottage cosy . Everything was finished and equipped to a very high standard . It's obvious this project has been a labour of love with much thought put in to every part of it.
Beautiful bedding ,fluffy towels , new hairdryer meant that we literally only had to pack our clothes , no loading the car with all the extras .
Outside in the extensive grounds is a beautiful , covered heated swimming pool .
There are horses in the paddocks and highland cattle in the fields . Children will love it here.
As busy people in our everyday life, we really enjoyed the peaceful nights.. No traffic to disturb our sleep. We woke up to birdsong and sunshine.
Our biggest decisions each day was which beach, town should we visit,
Polperro, Padstow, St Austell are among the many interesting and beautiful places were all within easy reach. There are two pubs nearby if you don't fancy cooking , we found a pub quiz and had a great time with very friendly local people who couldn't have been more welcoming .
We will definitely be returning to Mount Pleasant , this time we might go in the winter to enjoy the log burner
If I could give ten stars for this holiday complex I would .

Stayed for a week in early summer with kids, mother in law and two dogs. Spacious, well equipped accommodation, with everything you could need for a holiday. Kids loved the swimming pool, which has a roof to keep it warm. Internet access was fast and mostly reliable. Right on the edge of Bodmin Moor so easy access for walks, within short distance of Eden Project and other attractions. Owners were very friendly and welcomed us with a cream tea and other goodies! Highly recommended!

Had a great 3 night stay here and will certainly be back. After a long drive the welcome hamper was a real treat, really thoughtful of the owners. Scones and fresh bread just to name a few! The cottages have been done out beautifully and feel really homely too. That combined with the peaceful setting make this for a great getaway. Location is great too, we had two days out visiting various places including Polzeath and Rock. On a recommendation by the owner, Matt, we had a lovely meal out in the nearby town Lostwithiel and were certainly not disappointed. Next time we will bring the bikes to make the most of the nearby cycle routes. Lovely family who have done a great job :)
