We spent two nights staying in "The Den" at this fabulous place, our only regret is that we didn't book for longer (but will return someday). We were warmly greeted by Jennifer and shown to the most beautiful suite, the views bring the icing on the cake. We spent ages just watching the eagles from our deck. We also saw a doe with her two fawns just outside the building. I honestly can't fault horizons west, we have stayed in many bed and breakfasts over the years and this is up with the best. Note that breakfast is no longer offered, but there are great places for this in Uclulet. Priceless memories were made here.

We arrived here on the 3rd Oct. and stayed for 3 nights. We were greeted by Jennifer before we even got out of the car. Wonderful host. Explained everything to us before showing us our room which was stunning with glass sliding doors onto our own balcony. Breakfast was always fresh in our room and kept in the fridge. Sadly because it was raining we could not enjoy breakfast on the balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean but nevertheless enjoyed the beautiful view. A lounge was available again with a balcony for all guests to use if they wished. Bed was comfortable and the room had a very warm feeling to it as Horizons West is of wood construction throughout. We would certainly recommend this accommodation which must be an amazing place in the summer months. Thank you Jennifer for your kindness.

Stayed 3 nights. Stunning location with a deck overlooking the ocean. Fantastic breakfast left in our fridge each night. Jennifer couldn't be more helpful and friendly. This was the case with everyone we met in the area

We stayed in the Den for four nights and had a lovely stay in this delightful seafront location.

The views are amazing and the decks are a great place to sit.

We were greeted by Richard when we arrived and he provided helpful information on the area and recommendations for local restaurants.

The Den is spacious and pleasant with its own private decking with sea view. There is an enormous and very comfortable shared lounge area with a further large decking area with seating and the most amazing sea views.

We were provided with an extensive and tasty breakfast each day.

This isn't a traditional B&B in that the breakfast arrived in our fridge during the day for the next morning leaving us the flexibility to eat it when we wanted. However it did mean that we had little contact with our hosts which some may find strange.

The only criticism of the Den was that it was rather dark and there wasn't a good light to read with.

However it is a wonderful retreat in a piece of paradise.

The view from this property is spectacular! However, my poor rating reflects the mis-match of our expectations with the experience. Beginning with the proprietor informing us that breakfast was no longer included, the sign on the door requesting we remove our shoes before entering (after a long drive and arriving in drizzle), and the sign in the kitchen that it was a "private kitchen" not for guest use, the initial impression was not positive. Getting to our room, which I suspect was previously a storage room located underneath the house, required hauling luggage down steps and through a narrow walkway outside the house. The only heat for this room was provided by a space heater. However, the view was great and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was minimalist and the room decor was rustic mixed with quirky. Canisters set out in the living area in the house marked "Cookies" and "hot chocolate" provided hope, but to our disappointment only two cookies and no hot chocolate. The TV in our room worked well which was needed because of the noise of footsteps and voices as well as toilets flushing and showers running above. Bottom line, if you enjoy more of a camping experience and it's all about the view, this may be your place. Otherwise, you might want to seek out other options.
