We stayed in Cedar Cabin, a lovely roomy treehouse-like place with a lot of cabin/county/fishing related gewgaws around to spark conversations, piles of interesting books, etc. Had it rained we wouldn't have been bored. The beds were comfortable, but the lofted style took a little getting used to. Our companions were in Rose Cottage, a so-cute-it-shouldn't-be-legal without being overly cute place decorated in a turn of the century style. Even though I liked the Cedar cabin I was jealous of them getting to stay in this sweet little cottage.
It's within walking distance of Robert's Creek shopping area, a convenience store, and the public pier/beach, which is really charming. Actually the whole of Robert's Creek is really charming.
I loved meeting/seeing the animals on the property, including the irish wolfhounds (wow!), sheep, chickens and cat. l enjoyed being able to have fires in the fireplace or woodstove or outdoors (although that did have the side effect of having to deal with a few spiders from the firewood - worth it for us). The kitchen was well-equipped for the meal we prepared. We enjoyed everything.
The host, Loragene, was energetic and effecient and always moving. Her breakfasts were fabulous.
All-in-all staying here was a highlight of our trip.
