The rooms at the Rum Runner were very comfortable, clean and pleasant. The inn is located right in the middle of the old town and an easy walk to anything. There is ample parking on the street and the restaurant downstairs is a must try!

You absolutely cannot beat the location of this hotel. The rooms are not 5 stars and somewhat dated but lovely. I stayed on the top floor which is nice but I recommend the main floor, rooms 5 or 6. They have a huge shared verandah which is covered but open air compared to the top floor porches that are glassed in. It is perfect for people watching and having a drink. If you have a choice upstairs between rooms 7, 8, or 9, definitely go with the lowest number possible as the view improves. Number 9 water view would be blocked quite a bit by the Fisheries museum

I had a chance to check out room 5 and it is amazing. I am going back in a couple of weeks and have that one reserved. Very friendly and helpful staff. Dealt with the lady at the front desk who is from Europe. Lovely lady.

We were able to get a last minute booking in September. We were treated very well as was our dog. We had a marvelous evening at the restaurant, our dog was very welcome on the deck, he enjoyed his bowl of water while we enjoyed our wine and excellent curried haddock. Kudos to Tim and Sarah, thanks for the hospitality.

How wonderful to sit on our balcony and look out at the waterfront and the activity on it. Our room was large, nicely decorated and the beds very comfortable but really the best feature was just opening our door and walking out on the balcony. We just loved this place. Surprisingly, given it's central location, it was also very quiet. I should point out however that only two room, numbers 5 and 6 (I think ) have access to this wonderful balcony so ask specifically for one of them. One has two queen beds, the other a king bed.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the two rooms with access to the balcony

Our room was a nice size with a comfortable bed. Bathroom was small but clean. We got a parking spot right out in front and the woman at the front was very helpful with the parking meter. The Inn is in a great location just up from the harbour and right along the main street with all the restaurants. The only unfortunate part, that I probably knew when I booked, was that the veranda overlooking the harbour was only for the two rooms at the back. It would have been nice to take a glass of wine and sit outside and watch the people and boats in the harbour, and visit with other guests if they were there. We never did see anyone on the deck. Lunenburg is a beautiful little town, and definitely worth a visit.
