A few years ago my wife read a local newspaper article describing Mont-Tremblant and the Hotel Quintessence. Luckily we were able to break away from our daily grind and visit this unique area of Quebec, Canada. The hotel setting appealed to us. It sits on the lower edge of Lake Tremblant just outside the ski village. Quiet - no noisy crowds, power boats or motorcycles - just quiet the way we like it. Our room was in the turret on the second floor with a covered balcony; large, clean and very nice with a panoramic view of the lake. Service was as expected, gracious. The pool was spot on refreshing. Access to the village was a 5 minute walk. Our four day stay over the Labor Day weekend at the Hotel Quintessence was truly enjoyable. PS: The eggs benedict - outstanding.

Our stay in the hotel was very enjoyable. We loved the decor, the food and the service. Breakfast is great and we tried the restaurant for dinner as well and it was excellent. The only thing that spoiled some of the fun was the babysitter we hired while we were having dinner to stay with our 2 year old for a couple of hours. She wasn’t professional at all and careless with him to say the least. Although she wasn’t a hotel employee, the hotel refunded her fees since they provided us with her contact. A nice gesture of course but what matters to any parent is not the cost but the safety and care for the child. That’s why I highly recommend this hotel but if you need a babysitter, meet with him/her for an interview before hiring even if recommended by a hotel.

Amazing experience staying at the Hotel Quintessence. We loved the hotel and superior service. Stayed here for the IronMan Mont-Tremblant. They had breakfast open at 4:30AM the day of the race and even brought ice to the room for a recovery Icebath. Food at the signature restaurant was fantastic. We will absolutely return for a visit and the only hotel to stay in Mont-tremblant will be the Quintessence. Thank you for an incredible experience.

From the time of arrival to time of departure everything was perfect. The staff were attentive to all of our needs. One of the better customer serviced places that we have been to. The rooms were cozy, needed to be updated a bit but nothing that was a deal breaker. Great location just in the midst of everything with a lot of attractions near by. This was our first time in the summer and will defnitely recommend coming here.

Beautiful location and the rooms are great but unfortunately that’s where it ends. The common areas needed to be replaced 10 years ago; everything is so incredibly shabby and in particular the filthy carpet on the spiral staircase down to the restaurant has to be seen to be believed and yet they continue to hoover it thinking that will clean it. The spa is given a rave review on their website but in actual fact it’s a small infinity pool surrounded by uneven flag stones and prehistoric poolside furniture and incredibly small gym. The outside breakfast area has erected a prefab tent complete with straps and weights to hold it in place and should you have breakfast included don’t ask for squeezed orange juice because believe it or not you will be asked for an extra $5!
The restaurant and concierge staff were excellent but the reception staff leave a lot to be desired.

In summary a beautiful location in a beautiful area with a hotel that maybe a few years ago was at its pinnacle but has rested on his laurels and has become incredibly shabby and complacent.

Dear guest 'Brian D',
We thank you for having chosen Hotel Quintessence while in Tremblant. We are sad to read your comments about our poolside furniture, It was changed this summer. We are sorry they were not to your liking. Regarding your constructive comment about the staircase carpet, it will be changed this year. We apologize about our terrace getting ready for a wedding..this is why we had an exterior tent. As for the common areas, they were renovated this spring with new wallpapers. We are sorry you feel this way about the hotel.

With best regards,
Sophie Racine, General Manager
