We stayed a couple of nights in a deluxe room near (but not next to) the pool.
I was a little worried before we arrived that the rooms looked cold and characterless as the floors are polished concrete, as is the bed. However I was very pleasantly surprised at how clean, modern and lovely the room was.
The pool was really nice, and luckily the rain stopped long enough for us to get a morning by it. The food was fantastic and surprisingly good value for a resort on a little island miles from the mainland. There are other restaurants on the island; we ate lunch at Bamboo hut once but to be honest the restaurant at the hotel 'Sa Biang' was the best, even the pizza was thin, crispy and delicious,
Tid the manager is so friendly and helpful; he organised a private long tail to the Emerald cave which was mind-blowing (for 800 THB). We had a massage at the spa which was 500 THB each, compared to the 250/300 THB in the village. The massage was quite good, and I guess you pay for the private room and nicer setting as opposed to a mat in a communal room separated by a flimsy curtain, but I don't think it was worth double the price.
All in all a great place to stay and thoroughly recommended.More
