This property is right on the banks of the Campbell River, and it is possible to wade from the property to fish. When we were there there were disappointing numbers of Coho salmon, due to unseasonal drought and heat. However we still caught a few, unguided. The views from the house balcony and garden are exceptional, and would delight even non -fisherfolk. Bald eagles and herons and other birds abound. The house itself is very well designed, well equipped, and comfortable, with two double, and two twin beds.It is situated about 7 minutes drive from the town centre , in a quiet location, set back well from the road. The owner offers guided fishing trips. The most memorable aspect was the black bears that regularly walked through the garden, and along the opposite bank!

I wasn't expecting such crisp, modern accommodations. The view of the river was just amazing and all of my hopes for viewing wildlife were met and more. There was the thrilling (but safe) encounter with the bear in the back yard, the bear sauntering along the far shore (great video) and the farewell morning with a Bald Eagle, Golden Eagle, Great Blue Heron and the salmon leaping in the morning light. Throw in a spontaneous hike on Quadra Island that turned out to be one of our favorites and I end my stay on the Island very satisfied.
