Parking was conviently right outside our room. The manager was very friendly, always helpful and available. The room was very spacious and had a water view of the straight. There were resident eagles right above the motel. The motel was right on a busy road but was quiet in the evening. The kitchenette was not very expensive and well stocked. This motel is somewhat rustic but clean and spacious. We felt at home and would stay again.

The place looked OK when we pulled in, but as we entered the room we where very surprised to see a very nicely decorated room with all new furniture, and all very clean. Owner is extremely hospitable, and seems very nice. Location is fairly quiet and has a view of the water. We plan to return for another visit soon. A great place for the cost. I highly recommend this location to anyone wanting a great place at a very good price.

Big Rock Motel is a great little motel to stay in when in Campbell River. The motel is older and a bit dated but the price reflects that.

The rooms are clean and bathrooms are just fine. The room had two queen beds and a desk, fridge and microwave. The staff was very accommodating.

This motel has two floor and is located about 5-7 min drive from down town Campbell River. There is a nice walk way along the water front.

Wi-Fi was good. The TV is an older one and not a flat screen.

Hope that helps.

Room Tip: The top floor will have better view of the water front.

I stayed here two nights in late August and am looking forward to coming back for another stay. Highway 19A runs in front of the motel, which is a few miles south of the center of town, and has fair amount of traffic but I did not notice noise from this waterfront road. I was on the second level which gives you views out over roadway and onto the Discovery Passage. Very pleasant setting and view. This property has been recently refurbished because my room with two queen beds was very nicely finished, and reasonably priced. I found Campbell River to be a wonderful place to visit. There is a vibrant waterfront stretched out along Discovery Passage with marinas, restaurants, and a pedestrian walkway that must go nearly 10 miles out of town along the water. It was fun to see the steady parade of people using this pathway at all hours of the day. The management was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed my stay very much.

Room Tip: There is free long distance service to anywhere in North America, from the in-room phone.

Very clean and well cared for motel. The staff are super friendly. The only downsides are the beds are terribly hard and the walls are very thin, but luckily absolutely no noise heard from other vacationers. Check on the little coffee hut on the beach just north of motel on the waterfront. Cool place where you make your own waffles. Really nice people here too.
