Staff was great at the hotel. It backs onto a very small airport that is in a reserve. You can walk all around the airport next to the ocean and river. Very nice. Close to good restaurants as well. You could get away without a rental vehicle, but if you want to see some of the beauty the island has to offer, you will need one. It was also nice that the room included a breakfast (bacon, eggs, sausage, rolls, toast, pancakes, cereal etc.)

Room Tip: The suites are a bit more expensive but offer a full bedroom with hot tub, living area, fridge and microwave.

We stayed one night in a king size suite, which was very well equipped, comfortable and clean. The suite contained a small kitchenette with fridge and had TV in the sitting area as well as in the bedroom. The hotel is close to a number of shopping malls, which host a variety of restaurants. Its location in the Comox valley makes a great starting point for excursions, such a to the 40 Knot winery, a lovely side trip. The staff at the reception desk is extremely helpful and they gladly share their local knowledge. The breakfast buffet is outstanding with an ample selection of food items. To top it off this hotel is reasonably priced This was our second visit in two years and we hope to back there again!

Room Tip: A king size suite on one of the higher floors (3 or 4)

Had a day long drive with family on Vancouver Island from Victoria, BC to Nanaimo to this hotel. Highly recommend the ocean scenic route on the 19A highway instead of the main 19 highway route.

Nearing the end of the day, we made it to this gem of a classic hotel. Overall the room was great with its best feature being the scenic water view at the back of the hotel. The view also consists of a small, airplane runway where you can have a glimpse of a small plane taking off every now and then, but rest assured the room was very quiet and we didn't hear any outside noise (good walls).

The best part of this visit was the friendly front desk reception. Upon arriving, we were greeted by two lovely ladies, Teresa and Gabrielle. Both were free at the time and shared lots of neat stories (i.e. necessity in learning how to swim, the cool BC ferries that resemble mini-cruises, etc.) during our check-in. It's the sweet, little things that can make your day after a long road trip. Highly recommending this hotel!

Room Tip: View of the water and airplane runway.

Super friendly staffs, very clean rooms and comfy bed, very nice location
Take a walk to locals restaurant and enjoy the natural and delicious food.
One small suggestion: Ask for a room with river view

The hotel and staff met my expectations. Staff were friendly and the rooms comfortable. There was lots of Parking and a great running path right out the back. I didn't get to use the pool but used the fitness center and it was pretty small. I was happy with the experience and would recommend this hotel.

Stayed: May 2018
