An older motel that has been nicely updated. Very comfortable bed! Very reasonable priced especially when compared to local hotels that want 3 to 4 times the price. The onsite Amandas restaurant is a Nelson landmark and has the best Chinese food in town. A must visit for a great meal and definitly ads a star on the Villa's rating. The only problems I found was the Wi-Fi did not work in my room and only found it worked in the courtyard and the small window a/c unit could not keep up ended up freezing solid and needed to be turned off to thaw out for an hour which was not pleasant. A couple small fixes and I would rate it excellent for a motel in this price range.

We arrived here for two nights, after my grandfather believed he had arranged to pay for the room. When I went to check in the Front Desk staff member requested my card, which I gave for incidentals. When I mentioned it should already be paid for he snapped at me that 'there are no notes, does he have a receipt?'. Instead of picking an argument then, I gave my card and took the key.
On our final night I got to talk with my grandfather and mentioned this. He insisted on coming to the hotel to sort it out. From the moment it was brought up, the Front Desk staff (same guy) was on the defensive. He was incredibly rude, not looking for anyway to fix or help. He even had the gall to tell us that he couldnt change it, because my card was already charged. As a cashier and former hotel employee, I know this is not the case, so I told him he could process a refund and new charge on the POS he had charged me on. He became more flustered and outright rude. In the end he refunded me and charged my grandfather, offering all sorts of excuses and never once apologizing for his behaviour.
Outside of this, the room was decent. The hours of the office/breakfast are ridiculous, as it doesn't open until 8 and closes at like 9. They are more than willing to take your money, but don't invest the same effort back into their property.

We'd come a long way and didn't plan our time well. Dinner in Castlegar and driving in the dark. I looked at our booking and it said check in by 9pm! So I called ahead and said we'd be late and they said no problem, we will put your key under the mat in front of your unit (lol). We did arrive by 10pm, and there was still someone in the office, but our key was exactly where it was supposed to be. And hey, we got an upgrade to a king. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. All in all, a perfect and easy stop on a long road.

Very basic room, no high definition tv box, even though the tv was HD. On the plus side is the location which is just across the Big Orange Bridge ( Bob ) which takes you into Nelson. Grocery store about 2 minutes by car, downtown about 3 or 4 minutes. Small pool which is only about 4' deep and a hot tub were nice to have. There is also a full size BBQ for guest to use.
If you want something convenient and are basically just looking for a Motel close to Nelson to get a good nights sleep in this is fine.
Our unit had some taps with the hot on the right hand side and the one in the tub was not labelled correctly either... if you don't get hot water, try the other side. Hopefully this has been corrected.
