We recently stayed at this property, very much enjoying our stay ! The updated suites are very spacious and well appointed .The restaurant and spa are also very good. Some attention to the tennis court would be appreciated.

What a beautiful quiet place to visit at this time of year. Our room is neat and tidy and newly renovated. There is a lovely gas fireplace, coffee maker and fridge and the bathroom is unique in that there is a huge walk in shower with a bathtub enclosed within. Love the made to look rustic furniture but it is the setting that can’t be beat! Our room overlooks the ocean and we get two sceneries...one when the tide is out and one when it is fully in. It’s amazing! We loved walking out on the ocean floor and seeing all the ocean treasures that some children we ran into had collected including a ton of sand dollars! We left them for future “treasure” hunters! We watched an eagle swoop in to get himself some take out ocean food and the resident birds leave en mass upon his arrival. The bird songs wake us in the morning. How delightful! The front desk staff are so friendly and helpful and the gift store is great with lots of local artistry and goodies. Just one more night and we will be sad to leave this little piece of heaven!

Stayed here one evening/two days as part of a business commitment. Had stayed before many years ago in one of the cabins. Property has expanded and been renovated. It is a nice blend of trying to retain a bit of a "woodsy" or natural feel with some modern embellishments.

For this visit, I was in a one bed ocean view room. One king bed, small balcony overlooking beach/water, in-room separate jacuzzi tub. A bit weird to have a jacuzzi tub in the living space next to the bed - kind of reminded me of old school vegas. Room size was adequate. An unexpected feature was a gas fireplace in the room. For those chilly nights could see it being very useful and romantic. Room came with the usual amenities - coffee maker with supplies, iron, etc.

A place like this is mostly geared to tourists so as a regular business traveller there were maybe a few things lacking for me. Some examples: the bathroom shower was incredibly tight and the shower head and water pressure wasn't great; not enough ports for charging devices; in-room wifi was a bit slow; limited clothes storage - one narrow two drawer dresser under the desk - and there was some space for hanging garments in the wardrobe.

If you want a bit of rustic charm with most of the modern business amenities, a good choice - definitely would hit the right notes for romantic getaway couples and families with kids - they have the option of cute little cabins to stay in as well as a bit of a kids club area with amenities.

I am delighted to see that you have returned to our resort after staying several years ago, victoriabcgu!. We have recently renovated 2 of our 3 Oceanview buildings with the intention, as you mentioned, of blending our rustic aesthetic with some updated features and décor. I may suggest one of our Oceanview Suites for a future visit as it comes equipped with more of the amenities you mentioned that may be missing from the Oceanview Studios where you recently stayed with us. I am glad to see that you were pleasantly surprised by the gas fireplace as it is definitely a great feature for the colder nights!
Thank you again, victoriabcguy, and we hope to welcome you back to the resort for a future trip.

A beautiful location near the sea with some great amenities. We did not use the Grotto Spa but have in the past and will use it on our next trip. Very relaxing atmosphere and great staff in reception and in the restaurant. The 2 bedroom cabin nestled in the trees was just right for 2 couples, room for both cars and not too close to anyone else.

Thank you for your review, "Peace in the Spring", Glenda F! I am glad to see you enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful stay with us and that the 2-Bedroom Cottage suited your group well! They definitely afford the most privacy of our different room types so they can be ideal for couples. We hope to welcome you back to the resort and to the Grotto Spa for your next trip to Vancouver Island.
Thanks again,
Meaghan

Great location, beautiful beach to walk on; astounding views especially with the changing tides. Grotto spa was great and the tapas at tree top one of the best; and great value for money. Very quiet rooms. Some fo the furnishings (and the kitchens) are a bit dated; but everything functioned fine. That didn't impact the overall great experience.
