Arrived at the Lakehouse for a late dinner. Unfortunately it was dark so no view over the lake. Very warm greeting followed by a super dinner - ribeye with veg and a huge Yorkshire pudding. I hail from England and can confirm it was a pukka pudding. The sauce/gravy was really good too. The place had a really friendly cozy ambience. It’ll be a regular part of my itinerary when I’m up this way.

I phoned one day ahead to make sure they were open as we were travelling after Canadian Thanksgiving (so they're on winter hours). We were so happy to learn they were open on Friday for lunch, exactly when we'd be in the area and it was approximately 1/2 way to our final destination of Ottawa. Carly answered the phone and did a great job serving us. We were promptly seated by Shaun (the chef himself); even our little one was given a white pumpkin and a pencil case filled with water-soluble markers to keep him occupied while we waited for our lunches. Each person had something different and all 4 adults enjoyed their wonderful meal. Shaun's personal favourite, the steak sandwich, was tender and perfectly seasoned, my hubby said it was the best steak sandwich he's ever had. I ordered the turkey club with the soup of the day, chowder, delicious. My in-laws had the fish sandwich and shared their Greek salad. We were all satiated to the point that none of us wanted dinner many hours later. The little one with us ordered chicken fingers and sweet potato fries and gobbled up everything. The chicken fingers were thick and juicy with all white meat, and they were obviously home-made, served with 2 types of dipping sauce. We WILL be stopping here again on our next trip to Ottawa and we'll make sure we travel on a day where they're open. Don't miss this stop if you're in the area.

Went to the Lakehouse last night as a treat for not having to cook dinner. We ordered the crab cakes to share (delicious) and each of us had the entree Caesar salad with a chicken breast. The salad dressing was amazing, the portion size was large, but I feel the price for the salad and chicken was too expensive. $19.00 each for the salad ($38.00) for 2 is ridiculous. Perhaps decreasing the size of the salad would help lower the price. We certainly will go back, but next time order a more substantial meal. The waitress was attentive and quick to check on us.

We stopped in for dinner and both had the maple glazed pork tenderloin. The meal was prepared perfectly to order, the servings were simple, yet quite elegant. Meat, potatoes and carrots all of which was just great. Our server, Missy, made us feel immediately at home and we had a table looking over Pauduash Lake. As we were in early, we were able to have a very nice chat and had lots of time to eat and relax. Dessert was also delicious, we had the a cheesecake and the cream puff with ice cream.. Although we did not sit at the bar, from our location, it looked very welcoming and would be an ideal spot to spend some time relaxing. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and the excellent service. If you are looking for a spot for dinner or lunch on Highway 28, this is the one to look for. It is just off the highway and you have to drive down to the water to get there. Look for the OPEN sign! We are certainly glad we did!
