We have enjoyed the beauty and relative peace of Arrowhead on numerous family camping vacations. Less famous than Algonquin, and also less Disneyland! The view of the oxbow lookout is worth a hike, even with young children. Aside from the waterfront action, there are not a ton of activities laid on, which is what some fo us are looking for. Arrowhead is also close enough to Huntsville that daily provisioning trips to (a good-sized) town are an option.

Arrived at Arrowhead Lake early in the morning and the fog was still rolling over the water, the views were spectacular. Rentals are available and the lake wasn't very crowded, so it was still very relaxing even later in the day. Stubb's Falls are a must-see, one of the best sites I experienced on a recent trip to the Muskoka region. Algonquin gets more press, but this little gem to the West deserves some recognition as well!

We have a 18 month old and just loved camping there with her.
The sites were roomy and private for the most part.
I only suggest that when walking the trails close to the canyon, you really watch your young ones.. there are open spots where they could fall over.. so a safety concern.
I found the washrooms fairly clean and the showers were cleaned daily
Staff was pleasant and helpful.
There are active bears in the park so you must be sure to keep you area clean.
There is tons of wildlifeif you keep quiet.
We stayed in a "radio free" area which was great !!!
Our little one just loved the hiking trails and Stubb's Falls ( another area where you must really watch your kids because of the fast moving water.)
The beach was nice and clean and the water was just beautiful !
We are planning another trip back to Arrowhead for a week long trip.

An absolutely beautiful provincial park. Well preserved, clean and most campsites are fairly private. A very family oriented atmosphere. We take our kids camping here every year and will continue to do so. But do be aware that most of our visits, there have been bear warnings and sitings on the property. We've seen them ourselves! Just keep your campground tidy of food and junk and you'll be fine.

They have canoe rentals available by the hour, and mountain bike rentals too. There are several trails throughout the park. Great for hiking and biking.

Fishing is also great too. Get up nice and early, and you'll see the mist over the lakes. Absolutely breathtaking. The sounds of nature, frogs, loons, etc. We feel very privileged to be able to visit this park as for us, it's only a 3-4 hours drive.

Also, there is a river with nice staggered waterfall there that is very popular. You're able to swim and relax there. Very nice. See my photos.

Overall, this is the best campground I've been to. And I've been to many in Ontario.
