“Comfy Family Wedding”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2012

In Oct. 2011 we went to our nephews wedding at this location. The staff handled all the details and he and his bride were stress free! The Inn is quaint and cozy. The rooms are not large but are well layed out and also cozy and comfy. Very nice view from the huge front windows. Only negative----it was hard to find as we got there in the dark and signage was very poorly lit.

We recently got married at the Bear and Bison and the weekend was fabulous. The staff makes every guest feel like royalty and the food is amazing. Fiona is fantastic as the face of the Inn and Lonny is unbelievable in the kitchen! Wow. Charlotte handled every detail of our wedding set-up (she even made sure to study up on the recipe of the bride's favorite drink!) and Marc was an outstanding bartender. We can't compliment everyone enough! Every guest has raved about what a lovely time they had. Such a unique and beautiful place for an intimate wedding!

Recently, we made a last minute decision to enjoy the unseasonable weather in Alberta and take a scenic drive from Edmonton to Canmore. We were interested in trying a new bed & breakfast in the area. My husband and I were welcomed warmly when we arrived and given helpful information on a restaurant for dinner and the facilities of the inn. Our room was very comfortable (particularly the bed & linens) and had a magnificent view of the mountain scenery. Breakfast was memorable, particularly since we happened to be the only guests that day. The hospitality, lovely presentation and delicious breakfast combined to create an experience we will remember for a long time. Thank you to Lonnie and his staff for providing an amazing experience. We have already recommended it to friends and will continue to do so.

We researched all Canmore hotels to find one that would give us a lovely romantic weekend. The website indicated complimentary cocktail hour at 5pm to meet the owners, hot tub, jacuzzi suites, breakfast and picnic lunches so you can explore the mountain countryside. We rented the most expensive room, which was pricey but we wanted to thoroughly enjoy the weekend and indulge ourselves. The room had a wonderful view of the Three Sisters mountains and the room was very nicely done with a beautiful jacuzzi tub. The hot tub was closest to our room which was very convenient. The problem was with the hours. The hot tub is only open until 9pm and the jacuzzi in your room can only be used before 10pm. We had planned dinners out (as there is no dinner service at the Inn) and by the time we returned we couldn't even enjoy our jacuzzi tub, which is why we had booked that particular room in the first place. Upon arrival we were told that the cocktail hour and the picnic lunches were not available at this time of the year (this was not mentioned on the website and was part of the reason that we picked this particular location) Breakfast was provided and was OK but there is no choice, you get what is being served that day. The Staff was friendly. For the price we paid we expected more.

Kudos to Marc for his superb breakfasts and helpfulness. This inn also features incredibly comfortable linens and bed and is located in a quiet area of town with great views of The Three Sisters mountains. Lovely common area to read and relax in after a day of exploring Banff which is nearby. Lots of hikes in Canmore too, making this an excellent home base for here and for Kananaskis.
