The "Opening Soon" banner finally came down and our appetites had been long excited to sample the cuisine from this NEW Japanese ramen house.
With no staff awaiting we found an empty table and sat ourselves down to a table for two. Surprisingly we were not the only patrons wanting a bowl of ramen for lunch. Beginning with an appetizer of "Gyoza" or dumplings, they were not over done and very delicious. For the ramen we ordered one bowl complemented with vegetarian and the other with seafood. The vegetarian ramen's vegetables were fresh and crisp, fresh daikon, bok choy and bamboo. With the seafood ramen fresh sashimi tuna, cooked shrimp and salmon. Both ramen bowls also included a soft boiled egg and seaweed or "nori" and of course pork broth. Surely improvements will come as this restaurant matures but the ramen in both bowls were ever so slightly undercooked as were the shrimp.
Stick around Yama Ramen we'll be back !
