“Magic!”

Wonderful place off the beaten track, no hordes of tourists to deal with, just the lovely locals and fisher people. The house and gardens are superb. Only tip would be to take some solid footwear for swimming. The beach is stunning but getting in and out of the water and navigating the rocks is somewhat challenging.

“Great staff, very chilled, and the place to just be.”
Reviewed 22 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We are currently staying here for just over a week and have been very happy with our choice. It is so overwhelming the choices of accommodation in Bali, but this one is a no-brainer. It has a excellent location away from the chaos of the south. We spent the day causally traveling from Ubud via Mt Batur sightseeing with the transport which the owner organized for us. Once here our two 7 year olds have just had a ball playing soccer, swimming in the surf and generally having fun with the local kids. For us, that is relaxing enough.
The property has a great grassed area between you and the beach which is great snorkeling bit it is a little rocky for general swimming if you want to stand up in the waves. The water is a beautiful temperature so our kids are in and out if the water all day.
The house is basic but you wouldn't need anything else. It has a tv, wifi from the resort next door, and the staff, Ketut is amazing. So friendly and helpful. We spend our days doing a little yoga, having a massage (organized by Ketut), a walk on the beach, eating and drinking, and then a leisurely bedtime routine with our children who enjoy their treehouse style bedroom.
We have had any issues with mozzies and bugs but the house looks like it is well prepared for them if required after rain. Ketut says it doesn't rain here.
In the morning Ketut prepares our breakfast and has even made bread fresh for us. In the mornings he brings something new for us to try for breakfast from the markets and brews up some great coffee. He is here in the mornings for breakfast preparations and cleans the house. He pops back in the afternoon and does some ironing if he washed in the morning. Now that is service. We think that he would walk on hot coals if it would make us happy. He is collecting local food at a very cheap price for us for dinner tonight. Even though the resort next door is great, the food is still a little pricey for Bali. The relationship with the resort is now not as open as it used to be apparently, so if you want to snorkel, bring your own gear and they don't let you use the pool anymore even though the owners have said the do. New policy apparently.
So overall, great place for kids over 5 because of the stairs, and excellent for couples looking to relax.

“Beautiful and peaceful house in no-touristy, and friendly location”
Reviewed 20 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

This is a great house in an interesting area, which is both off the main tourist track and yet adjacent to a small health-food and yoga oriented resort that has meals and a nice pool to use. One of the best aspects of this place was the wonderful help from the housekeeper, Katut, who made lovely breakfasts every day and coordinate our plans, rides, and much more. There are nearby masseuses, fishermen who sell fresh fish, drivers who can take you snorkeling, to hiking spots, waterfalls, etc. It's a great place, a whole different world from the Kuta party scene.

“Beautiful sunrises”
Reviewed 7 October 2012 for a stay in October 2011

So calm with lovely sea shore right on the doorstep. Walk for miles on the beach, eat seafood straight from the ocean and hear the sounds of the jungle right outside your bedroom window.
Well run domestic facilities include varied breakfasts.
Couldn't find a better place to stay on the Bali northshore.
