When traveling to Spain, we booked this Chambre d'hôte for an overnight stay.
After 850km from home, we were exhausted and happy to finally find the B&B, at only 5 minutes from the highway.
We were received very friendly and warmly. Yaëlle and Olivier offered us a drink and we sat down in their lovely living room for an hour, chatting and getting to know each other - even though we'd be gone the next day.
After that, we were shown to the room (they only have one room). The room was very spacious and very clean. The bathroom blends in with the room, behind the bed and offers an open shower and two large sinks. The room is truly magnificent.
Also, we arrived there at about 6 PM and it was 32ºC outside. Once inside the room, a comforting freshness came across us - just heavenly in such a warm climate.
The room is very modern but at the same time they were able to add some very earthly tones, fabrics and materials. Truly delightful.
Note that - for once - the photos on the website were VERY accurate. The hosts speak good English, which will be a plus for most English-speaking travelers.
The location is very rural - as expected - and with steep some roads. They have a nice garden in which the breakfast is served. The breakfast is truly amazing, there was fresh yogurt and juice, self-made jams and bread/croissants. For those who like continental breakfast: too bad, this one is entirely French (which is a plus for us, always hated the smell of sausages in the morning ;-)).
At night, it cools down really nicely in the Lot - and with the two comfortable chairs right outside the room, we were able to relax late in the evening.
A bad thing (for some) is that there is no restaurant nearby, you will have to go to Cahors for that. And you actually should go to Cahors, it is a great city to visit and the food is delicious (I would recommend the foie gras and magret de canard). The hosts explained us in great detail on how to get there (infinitely easy) and gave us a brochure to find our way in the city.
You have extremely good value for your money in their B&B, it is only € 75 per night - for that money you just CAN'T get a hotel room that comes close to their service and level of comfort, yes, I would even call it luxury.
