Description: Dear Guests welcome to the Fleet Twyning. We are a beautiful riverside pub on the edge of the river Avon. We pride ourselves on home cooked fresh food along with our traditional Wadworth Ales. We get extremely busy in the summer time as we are a very popular destination pub and wait time on food can vary from 10 minutes to 1 hour, so we ask you to be very patient with us as we cook all your food to order from fresh produce. In the winter it is advisable to book in advance as our tables get booked early on for weekends and early evenings.

On impulse I steered my new car towards Twyning. There was a howling gale, the river was up.

Inside there was a warm welcome, a comprehensive menu as weĺl as a specials board.
Mix and Max furniture with comfy seating.
We ordered flatiron steaks, medium rare and medium well done. Mine pink and slightly bloody, my friend wanted hers cooked more. The waitress was reluctant to take the plate saying the steak would be chewy and unpleasant. We accepted the risk. It returned tasty and what my friend wanted.

There was no time for pud, but we will return and have desert another time!!

We had a lovely family get together here. The atmosphere, location staff friendliness were all top notch. Sadly the food was sub standard for the location. Food was only just hot enough and portions were poor. I assume during the summer months they knock out high quantities at a pace. But we are after something nicer than weatherspoons standard, which really let a great night down. I would certainly visit again and would highly recommend this place.... Just eat before you go out.

Two different meals, Sunday lunch roast was excellent for one member of party others had a special off the board, although the flavour was very good the portions were minimal to say the least, king prawn dish was only just covering the bottom of a small bowl and a small portion of rice, would not have minded if a bit of greenery was on the plate or we had ordered small plates. But the roast pork lunch was excellent. Service was very mixed one waitress who served us was chewing gum, a no no in my book. Would go again but will stick to Sunday Roast.

This dog (and people!) friendly pub is well decorated, with its framed display of horse brasses and beer-mat wallpaper and the usual trendy mis-matching chairs. There is a huge pile of board games in the bar and various fancy dress events advertised. The soup was piping hot, served in a bowl with a lid and the roast vegetable bagette with sweet potato chips was delicious.
