we gave it go and prices fluctuated (got higher upon being away for a week) room wise we were located at the top of the Hill, which we didn't mind as it gave us better views, the place does the job if you just want somewhere to camp for a brief time, it doesn't have the amenities if you wanted to just stay in like food etc,
Walked up and negotiated a 15% discount on advertised prices for a 2 night stay. Cost about £20/night for standard AC room with balcony. Breakfast included.
Room was quite clean, you could tell it was new. Complimentary toiletries included too. No TV or wifi though.
Breakfasts was average - fried egg, 2 slices of mildly toasted bread and scarcely enough butter for one slice.
Even though the room was air conditioned, there were large holes in the wall above the door (by design) which let the cool air out. We ended up asking for towels to block the holes, which they happily provided but it was still quite uncomfortable at times (trying to sleep).
The staff were nice but English was limited. They called the owner/boss when they couldn't communicate with us.
Located 15 minutes walk from the airport and 10 minutes from the harbour to Komodo national park.
Also offered to book tickets for us at a reasonable price.
The room was clean, big enough and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was two pieces of toast, an omelet and coffee/tea. It's not in the centre, but up the hill. Because of that it's really quiet, which is nice. We rented a motorbike, so we didn't had a problem with the location.
The hotel is pretty new we think and there are definitely things they can improve: ac wasn't working properly, there were no towels in the room and there's no wifi.
It's also a bit strange that there are about 7 young people hanging around the reception and none of them speaks good English.
Location: 10 minutes walk from the airport. If you only have a backpack with you, it is better to walk and save money from riding some transportation from the airport which will cost you IDR. 60K for only 1 minute drive! The hotel itself is located on the top of the hill by the main road and no street lighting at all at night. Walkable to town which approx. 15 minutes via short cut (some steep stairs) to find some restaurants to eat. Be prepared to bring a flashlight if you want to go out at night.
FYI: No hot water, low water pressure for shower, half open roof bathroom in the old building. If you wanted to stay here, ask for a room in the new building. Cleaner and closed room so no bugs and mosquitos coming in.
Myself and my boyfriend stayed here before doing a Kencana tour to Lombok via Komodo etc. Whilst there was definitely a language barrier this is a lovely place to stay - they have just built it and it was perfectly clean. It's not a luxury hotel and is more for backpackers but it's close to the main town and they provide breakfast for you. There weren't any mosquitos and we felt extremely safe. I'd recommend this.
