room was DIRTY! had to clean toilet it was disgusting bed looked like sheets hadn't been changed. complained and next day move to a room that was 100% better but first night spoilt it. for tea. For $230 per night you would expect much better.

Room Tip: not the Bali room

Chapel Farm….don’t waste your time or money. We wanted a night away to relax in the beautiful Swan Valley, but our night at Chapel Farm was far from relaxing.
The pool and spa are filthy; the pool was full of leaves, twigs and millipedes and looked like it hasn’t been properly cleaned for a long time. The toilet next to the pool area was also filthy, as was the kitchen area next to the pool, you definitely would not want to be fixing yourself a snack next to the grotty work surfaces and sink. The view from the pool area was of a building site, and we were told that they were having some work done, but unfortunately, this had not been mentioned to us the week previously when we had contacted them, which was disappointing to say the least.
We stayed in the bush shack, which was spacious, but also filthy from the dirt on the shower fixing, to the false eyelash kindly left on one of the towels!!! You were worried about sitting/touching anything. The beds were uncomfortable and very worn (watch out for one of the single beds which squeaks if you just breathe on it!!).
If you do visit the “Tap” for your evening meal be ready for poorly made cocktails, and if you happen to have any dietary requirements, the staff will try to accommodate you, but you may be waiting for a long time for your food too actually arrive after numerous miss communications between the staff.
With lots of short term accommodation appearing in the Swan Valley, Chapel Farm will really have to up it’s game if it wants to complete, in the meantime give it a miss unless you are after a stressful stay in un-luxurious surroundings.

Where do I start...first, I googled 'luxury accomodation' in the Swan valley....first mistake - should have checked trip advisor first!
Overpriced, dirty, cramped, dated, the worst beds ever! And then I'll start on the food, followed by the service (what service?) The advertised 'adults only getaway' is nestled nice and close to Toodyay road so forget tranquility...this is metro at its best. Dinner in the Tapas cafe is an experience and not such a great one, Tapa meals are pre prepared so delivery to table is prompt but quality is sadly lacking. The wine was cold, so not all bad....then, it's back to the romantic 'beach room' complete with a bed from ' budget bedding' and with suspicious stains on the covers and worn out pillows. Milk for one coffee in the dirty fridge, dust and dirt on every surface, towel rail falling off the wall....are we getting a feel for the romance bit?
I've had nicer stays in caravan parks at a quarter of the rate....Fremantle prison would give this establishment some competition....

Room Tip: Go someplace else.

This place does serve a good breakfast to your unit in the morning at 930am, so it would be good for those who have had a big night. If that is your reason for going there, read no further.

Booked for 3 days, left after the first night. We had the Bali Room. (The door looks a bit Balinese). This is a long, dim, windowless space with a faint but recurrently noted mouldy smell. Partly divided off is a smallish front entry area with a coffee table thing and a daybed of odd, uncomfortable size. The bathroom is disproportionately large by comparison, and contains just a shower stall and extra space but no bath.

Theoretically, in warm (not hot or cold) weather, you could open the front doors onto a slabbed area which has a little cafe table and chairs, and sit out there. Would be good for smokers, say.

But on our weekend, they were repaving the carpark, which is 4 metres away from the cafe table right though a reed-stick fence. (Forget the fence, acoustically you are IN the carpark with the loud grinding machines.)

But with the front door shut that was ignorable. And, realistically, it is right on the start of Toodyay Road, a highway, and over the road is a petrol station. So one can hardly expect this to be like a farm setting ( though it is called Chapel Farm Getaways). So this was not the stopper.

What made us pack up and go was the bed. Large, but the hard, sprung kind of mattress and on my side the mattress was collapsed, falling away in a slope to become flush with the wood bed frame, about 20mm drop over 800mm. Like an elephant had been sitting on it far too often.

There is no evening meal service other booze-promoting snacks (tapas, Pizza all done by 8 or 8.30pm), and the name of this 'restaurant' is The Tap.

So, it is my recommendation that this room/ place would be suitable for those who like to indulge the point where physical discomfort no longer matters.

It had better work, because there is no one around to communicate with. No night manager that I could find. And still not there at 10AM, so we asked the kitchen-hand to ask her to refund the rest of the money. This they did.

Room Tip: Not the Bali Room.
