We have stayed here on a couple of occasions and it's ideal for an overnight stay. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Good location, good distance from town. Breakfast is very tasty too. Highly recommended :)

This is a small family run B&B which is a pleasure to stay at. I stayed overnight Thursday 9th August on a business trip. It is immaculately clean and ncely decorated. The welcome is warm and friendly but professional and curteous. As a vegetarian who more-often-than-not has to make do with beans on toast or scrambled egg and beans for breakfast it was wonderful that I was presented with a full vegatarian cooked breakfast - a real treat! This showed me above all else they really care about their guests rather than merely 'processing' people through their doors. I did find it unusual that the room door opened directly into the open courtyard as opposed to an internal area of the hotel, but that doesn't in any way detract from the place.
Recommended.
Winsford itself seems something of nothing as I walked through the town late evening and it had little atmosphere with many closed and boarded shops - pity really.

I'm not sure what more you could expect from a guest house. Not luxurious by hotel standards but it has everything you would want for an overnight stay. I had a spacious modern room with an efficient although small shower room.

Free wifi throughout - why do most hotel chains still insist on charging? Free bottle of mineral water and quality biscuits - little things that make a difference.

Perfectly adequate and tasty breakfast for a reasonable price. In an area not over blessed with choices for accommodation, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Winsford Lodge.

I have stayed here on business a few times in different rooms and thought it was about time I reviewed it.

Rooms
Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well decorated. They are large and feature what you would expect. The info pack is very useful and gives details of the free wi-fi although I found that a little patchy.

I've always found the temperature of the rooms very comfortable and controllable.

Bathrooms
Once again, very clean with a fantastic shower. Some bathrooms are a little small, but how big do you really actually need a bathroom in a hotel! All the important things are there, complimentary shampoo, shower gel and body lotion (whatever that is!) and plenty of towels.

Car parking
It is off-road in the hotel's car park, although it is a little small and can get full quickly.

If you are in one of the outside rooms you can park right outside your room which certainly helps when carrying your bags in after a long trip.

Location
The hotel is around a 10min walk from Winsford town centre although there are a few bars/pubs within a couple of minutes walk. On a summer evening I recommend a beer at the red lion sat by the river followed by a bit of music at de-bees.

If you just fancy a take-away in your room after a hard day, I recommend the Moorland's Balti (great pizzas and they deliver to your room).

For the business traveller this hotel is situated very close to the industrial estate in Winsford and only 10mins drive from Northwich and Middlewich

For the leisure visitor, it is close enough to Oulton Park and Delamere Forest to be an ideal option.

Breakfast
A superb full breakfast awaits you in the morning. Cereals and juice are available prior to a full English breakfast that will set you up for the day.

Hosts
There isn't enough positive words in the English language to praise the hosts. I could try a few such as friendly, welcoming, knowledgable, helpful, kind, attentive etc. But would soon run out of room!

Smokers
All rooms, as you would expect are non-smoking, however for those of us that still indulge in the filthy habit it is ideal if you are in one of the outside rooms as you can just pop out of your door and enjoy a quick smoke.

I stayed here earlier this year. Travelling alone I was obviously given a single room. Unfortunately it was next to the car park and there was an iron fire escape on the wall outside next to my bedhead. The occupant of that room came in late and their visitor left at 04.15 in the morning. NOT a good night's rest. The heating went off early, and came on late in the morning and the room and shower room were tiny. The owners were welcoming and the room very clean but I do like my sleep. Maybe if I stay again and take a larger room away from potential disturbances I can write a happier review.

Room Tip: Simply ask for a quiet one !
