“Casa Parva is a hidden gem, off the beaten path but so close to everything”
Reviewed 17 November 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Being it was our first trip to Tuscany, we spent a lot of time doing the research in order to make sure that both the accommodation and location were perfect. Casa Parva far exceeded anything we could have wished for. It was our luxurious home in which we based ourselves for ten days. Antonella was the perfect host. She was professional, friendly and knowledgable. She provided all the staples you need for cooking, plus fresh herbs and produce from her garden. A very nice basket of wine, biscuits, jams, butter and coffee. What I loved best was the spectacular view from the bed each morning, that overlooked ancient rooftops and beyond to the rolling hills in the distance. Unbelievable!! The town of Montisi was the perfect size -- it had everything you need just steps from the doorway. All of the popular tourist destinations were less than 30 minutes away. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

“La Bella Casa Parva, molto comodo nel cuore della Toscana.”
Reviewed 7 September 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The Casa Parva is a large and beautiful apartment set in the castle wall of the almost tourist free hilltop town of Montisi and not far from all the attractions of Tuscany. The apartment has been renovated to a high standard and is beautifully furnished. La Casa faces the main road through Montisi, La Via Umberto 1, with captivating views across the Tuscan countryside and has its own front door access from the street. From the beginning, we were made to feel welcome by the owners; the charming, helpful and generous Antonella and Maurizio, who had prepared the Casa Parva for immediate and comfortable occupation and were literally waiting at the door on our arrival. Antonella is a knowledgeable tourist guide who will help and guide you through the Tuscan history and culture.

“Casa Parva: elegant, livable, and welcoming”
Reviewed 14 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

There are three major elements that make Casa Parva such a wonderful place to spend one's vacation: the apartment itself, the location, and the proprietor.

The apartment is built into the side of an old castle. The rustic, ancient walls contrast beautifully with the remodeled, modern elements. The kitchen and bath are brand new, the windows are generous and large, and it is furnished with an eclectic, tasteful array of new and antique items. My husband and I felt immediately comfortable and at ease when we arrived. The kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, milk, eggs, dry goods, and even some salad from the owner's garden. There were even fresh flowers in the kitchen and bedroom. And the apartment was spotless.

The town of Montisi sits atop a hill where a view will reveal Siena is the far distance (a little over an hour away as I recall) and vineyards and olive orchards all around. Unlike its neighbors of Montepulciano and Montalcino, Montisi still has a very small town feel to it. There are certainly some tourists who move through town, but it is clearly a town unto itself that has a life outside of the tourist industry. It is close enough to Florence and Siena for easy city trips and to the smaller towns for a rural Tuscan experience. The local coffee shop/restaurant/cinema, Il Barrino, is the local hangout and Gianluca and his family are very warm and welcoming.

The true gem of Casa Parva, however, is the proprietor, Antonella. When you rent the apartment, you are fortunate enough to get Antonella's expertise and hospitality with it. Antonella lives in town and is a certified tour guide of Siena; one client of hers who we met on our last night in Florence (at a restaurant where Antonella had made reservations for us both) exclaimed: "Today was our last day with Antonella after three days of touring; I cried when we had to part!" A colleague of hers who we also met on our trip explained that "Antonella is literally the funniest and most personable tour guide I have ever met." She will help you select wine for your tip ahead of time if you like, set up tours at local wineries and artist studios, will give you tours of Siena and the surrounding areas, will set you up for a massage, a painting lesson, or a hot air balloon ride. Or she will just recommend where to eat the best food and let you explore on your own. Her communication ahead of the trip was fantastic and reliable.

My husband and I look forward to our next trip back to Casa Parva and have been recommending it to anyone who will listen in the meantime.

“Perfect Stay In Tuscany!”
Reviewed 11 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

If you are looking for the perfect place in Tuscany, Casa Parva is the place. We stayed 7 days in this renovated apartment in Montisi. The apartment was comfortable, clean, and efficient with all the comforts of home. The owners made sure everything was perfect, fresh flowers, breakfast items, bread & wine. Montisi, a medival village, is charming and full of friendly folks.
The owner is a Tuscany expert that will guide you to places to visit and great restaurants close by. After touring Italy for a month our stay in Tuscany was the best part. I would recommend Casa Parva to anyone looking for a 1 bedroom in Tuscany.

“CASA PARVA - SENSATIONAL STAY IN THE TUSCAN COUNTRYSIDE!”
Reviewed 8 June 2015 for a stay in April 2015

My husband and I stayed at this beautifully renovated property for four nights in late April 2015. Casa Parva is immaculate and spacious with a décor that combines the old world charm of Tuscany with superb modern amenities. Everything in the accommodation is brand new and first class!

Centrally located in the idyllic medieval town of Montisi, the breathtaking Tuscan countryside and surrounding towns of Montepulciano, Siena, Pienza, Cortona and Montalcino are within easy driving distance for day trips. Casa Parva was the perfect place to return to at the end of each day to relax and enjoy the local cuisine. The charming owners, Antonella and her husband, could not have been more accommodating in so many respects. When we arrived, tired and much later than planned in the evening, (challenges with trains and rental car pickup) they graciously welcomed us at the front door with umbrellas, a helping hand with luggage. With a bottle of wine, cheese and fruit at the ready, we instantly felt at home with a greeting by good friends.

Antonella is a licensed tour guide (referred to by Rick Steves in his Tuscany guide book as “smart, well-organized, and enjoyably opinionated”). We spent part of one day on a private tour with Antonella to Montepulciano – complete with a winery tour and tasting. She is well connected and will provide a very personal experience. Antonella is the best!

If you stay at Casa Parva, you absolutely must have lunch or dinner at Il Barrino. It’s a four minute walk down the street. Ask Antonella to introduce you to Gianluca, the owner. We had lunch there which was so much fun and very enjoyable with the local Montisi residents. We also had one of the most fantastic dinners of the trip in this very small, family operated restaurant. (see picture!) It’s the most authentic Tuscan cuisine that you will experience in thisl non-touristy medieval village of 400 people.

The combination of a picturesque setting, great food (we also arranged for a cooking class one evening in the gourmet kitchen) and meeting kind, inviting local people made this stay an unforgettable experience for us. Casa Parva exceeded our expectations in every way, and we would most definitely recommend this property…can’t wait to return there to create more fantastic memories! If this experience is not on your bucket list, it needs to be! You will love it.
