We had a lovely dinner here in the weekend. Was packed with locals everyone enjoying both the food and the atmosphere. Fireplace in the center of the room and our host with a fiery temperament warmed the feeling even before the pasta arrived. Homemade pasta in big portions, maialino in forno, coniglio with truffless, all was delicious. My only question is the wine list which is correct but dominated by the biggest and not always the best.producers. In this kind of slowfood oasis this feels out of sync.Anyway we had great time, prices are very fair and you will leave satisfied. A must in this part of Tuscany!,

If you are looking for a perfectly aged (20-30 days) Bistecca Fiorentina this is the place to go. I haven’t had a steak this good in a very long time. The roasted onions and potatoes are great too. This is an old school Tuscan surprise with no frills or touristy crap. Celebrate eating great meat here!

Returned with Italian friends and as always received a warm and friendly welcome from host Massimo. The dishes were clearly explained and were delicious, in particular the chick pea and chestnut soup and the slow roast pork with wild fennel. Service was good, as was the atmosphere and the osteria is clearly very popular with locals. A must to experience traditional Tuscan home cooked, tasty food and a warm and helpful welcome. We will return and strongly recommend a visit.

We dined here recently on the recommendation of friends. The food was excellent. We had roast pork with garlic and fennel. Others were commenting how much they enjoyed different dishes. There was a comprehensive wine list. Prices were very reasonable. What was priceless was the owner, Massimo. He would be a very hard act to follow. A wonderful free-spirited person who enthused about the fine cooking and life in general. Everyone in the restaurant was smiling. We had finished a bottle of local wine and he plonked a carafe of homemade muscat on the table. When I told him how much we enjoyed this, he whisked the empty wine bottle off to the bar, filled it with muscat and, having stressed that he had washed it out, smacked a cork into it with the palm of his hand! This was not just a good meal but a real event. If you're passing that way don't miss the experience.

We stopped by this popular Osteria on our way from Rome up to Modena, for a very quick lunch with the kids.

The place is nice (dark) and small, the chef very "characteristic" and welcoming.
The starter was a normal "Tuscan style" starter and the only relevant thing was the pancetta, very good.

We followed his advice for the main course and had the nettle gnocchetti and the pasta with duck sauce. The gnocchetti were really enjoyable, the duck was too strong for me.

The place is a bit too dark, very small (5-6 tables all together) and we had a table close to the bathroom :-(

But I would suggest a quick visit, in case you are in the area.
