Very nice location. A bit secluded so it takes some time to get there, but it is really worth it if you want some days to relax and just enjoy nature and some quiet time. The owners are very nice and welcoming; they really made us feel like at home. The breakfast they serve is nice, and portions are big. Around the hotel there are a few restaurants. It's the perfect spot to start your hikes around Maderas volcano.

The hotel is a bit far on the island, but very well accessible. The owner is the most friendly, helpful and lovely lady. She barely speaks english, but is really patient with trying to understand you. The rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast ($3) was delicious (gallo pinto with the best eggs ive ever had) or pancakes).

Balgue is on the quite side of the island, and this hospedaje is a great option. Rooms are spacious and clean, the hosts kind and accomodating with our request, prices are very good, expecially if you stay several nights. For us it is highly recommended.
To move around you will need a scooter/motorbike, the bus rides too seldomly: AVOID renting a motorbike/scooter through this premise, although it is not their own business they will direct to a guy who brings you the wheels. Thought, the price is far higher than in the several places just next door, with minimal space for negotiation and no additional value offered.
