Huh, just read Pierre's review and it's like there's an echo in here. The place is very funky and historical, very enjoyable ambience, but the kitchen is not up to that tome of a menu. Cut it back and do what you do, WELL! My (Oaxacan, read foodie) guy is very sensitive to badly reheated leftovers and was not pleased.
That said, I loved the sopa re requeson (ricotta soup), so you know someone is alive back there in the kitchen..
THAT said, this is also one of the very few places in Mineral (or Real, depending on who you talk to) del Monte where you can get a real cup of coffee in the morning! Cafe de olla--sweet, spiced Mexican coffee is on offer virtually everywhere of a morning, but if you ask for a plain ole cuppa coffee, they look at you like you're from another solar system. This restaurant is a huge exception, serving up excellent organic coffee from Veracruz, perfect with a toasted bolillo (Real/Mineral has excellent, crisp bolillos, though their sweet breads are so-so). Real Coffee places open their doors around 5pm, go figger.
