So pleased that we chose this place to stay for a weekend. Our friends were getting married at the nearby Coniston, I always find the big hotels rather soulless places so decided to find a nearby b & b. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, so full of character and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Sheila is the ideal host, so very attentive and genuinely caring that our every need was catered for. All the rooms are Railway themed names, we were in Swaledale and it was beautiful. The selection of tea, coffee, chocolate and little biscuits was a lovely touch too. The towels in the bathroom were plush and 'snow white' which is always a good sign. The breakfast menu is one of the best I've seen in the UK and The Full Monty was freshly cooked to order (with a choice of sausages) and all ingredients sourced locally, even the eggs were laid on site. Sheila gave us a lift to the church on the morning of the wedding, which was very welcome as it was a good walk there with little parking space and it was raining. The only downside to our stay was the taxi ride back after the reception, the taxis charge extortionate rates (£20 for a 7 minute journey before midnight) so best to plan ahead for that.

Room Tip: Swaledale is a beautiful room

We stayed (Wife & I ) at Tudor House in Bell Buck in August for 3 days. Sheila & Bob (the chef) which cooked the biggest breakfast I've had for long time .Where the perfect host friendly & helpful the room was 1st class comfortable with tea & coffee facilities & large walk-in shower the room overlooks the railway line so you could lay in bed & watch the trains go by (great) you can a drink from the bar(honesty bar)and pay at the end of your stay. So just say many thanks to Sheila & Bob for putting up with us and hope to return one day ....we will recomend ..Pat & Charlie (Basil)

What a little gem this is, so glad our friends introduced us to it. The B&B was previously a railway station, it has been very tastefully decorated, and also quirky in the living areas. We stayed in one of the larger bedrooms which has a sitting area as well as a walk in wardrobe, the bed is extremely comfortable. The noise from the railway was not bad really and we had the added bonus of the Flying Scotsman passing this morning. Lovely welcoming from Shiela and Bob, breakfast was amazing, great choice of drinks from the honesty bar. Had a great time there.

Room Tip: The two larger rooms are great good views of wildlife. The back bedrooms have views of the track.

We stayed for a weekend. What a wonderful place in a truly majestic location. The breakfast was what you would struggle to get at a top end hotel. Our only negative was no phone signal and poor wifi. If you like all things railway, you will love this place.

Room Tip: Wensleydale room for best railway views

We stayed at Tudor House for 3 nights. Although it is right next to a railway line (the B&B is housed in the old station building) there is never a problem with noise as the trains are infrequent and very quiet. Sheila and Bob are perfect hosts, friendly and helpful with an extensive knowledge of the area, restaurants etc., Our room was very comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities, and a beautifully equipped bathroom with a large walk-in shower. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious with most of the ingredients sourced locally. I would happily recommend Tudor Lodge to anyone looking for a really comfortable, well run and friendly B & B.
