The restaurant has moved out of town.
The food was so good, lovely coffee, lots of good freshly cooked food made in the open kitchen.
Just out of town now on the road north.

We loved our entire experience at this restaurant. The entrance is very unassuming- it seems like it is just going to be a little hole-in-the-wall eatery. Once you enter and pass through the teeny kitchen (you can really tell it's a family operation!), you walk down into a beautiful patio surrounded by trees and overlooking a little river. Iguanas scattered across the roof and it was perfectly shaded- so wonderfully idyllic! Not only that, but the food was stellar! We tried their speciality- which was almost like a Mexican pizza (corn dough with your choice of toppings with a yummy salsa). They also had great fruit juices and the waitstaff was very friendly. I highly recommend it!

I lived in Comala for a year, and El Fogon was my favourite place to eat. In fact, I just found a hand-written recipe for the best tatemado in Colima, given to me by the owner... I recommend the food, and the patio overlooking the river.... Watch the steps down! A mug of cafe de olla, tatemado, of one of the giant breakfasts cooked in a comal, the pottery cookware Comala is named for... Fresh orange or mango juice... Everything is delicious. And the people couldn't be nicer. xx
