Had a family break here for a week and could not recommend enough. Lodges are set in a secluded wood and with only 6 on site they are not over crowded. The standard of the fit and finish is excellent as are the extras including hot tub and sauna in each lodge. If you sre looking for some quality R&R this cannot be beaten

Just to reiterate the vast majority of the reviews already on here...what a perfect peaceful retreat. The lodge was more than big enough for a party of six. We made full use of the hot tub and the barbecue. Loved the complementary shuttle service (in a smart new Mercedes people carrier) to the White Swan and the Fairfax for a couple of great meals.

Top quality furnishings, crockery, linens, kitchen equipment. Well appointed bedrooms, all ensuite. Fab little touches like mirrors that don't steam up!

There's plenty of places to visit in the area if you want to explore, but the lodges are so peaceful and comfortable it was a delight to just relax and unwind. Perfect for families, friends, (well behaved) hen parties. I would definitely return and whole heartedly recommend.

No 2. Hedgehog. Arrived early able to get in due to no-one in the previous day. First impression. Amazing! Beautiful open plan living and kitchen area. Ideal for what we had planned. Lovely leather settee and armchairs. Lots of huge windows open onto our private decked balcony and sitting area with hot tub. 3 good sized double bedrooms all ensuite. Luxury fitting and that nice touch with toiletries and fluffy towels. Everything you could possibly need was found in the fully fitted kitchen. Our mobiles had no signal not surprising due to the remote location and made for a nice change. We had no WiFi. A swift chat at reasonable dion brought a lovely young man over to investigate. Unfortunately he wasn't able to help. The ISP people needed to come and it was going to happen over the weekend. He came back ten minutes later with a complimentary bottle of champagne and free sky movies for the rest of our stay. Perfect. Really nice touch Studford. Loved our visits to The Fairfax on Saturday and Sunday lunch at The White Swan was amazing. So sad to be having to come home now. Will look forward to coming back soon and can highly recommend to anyone wanting a little slice of luxury in a peaceful location.

Luxury and perfection. The attention to detail in the lodge was outstanding. The comfiest beds I have ever slept in. Top quality furniture throughout the lodge. The sauna and the hot tub are the icing on the cake. Staff helpful and attentive. Location peaceful and idyllic - perfect for walking and exploring the area. Just a wonderful wonderful family break

Just home from a seven night stay at the Vixen Lodge and must echo the praise of previous reviewers....The lodges are stunning, the setting is perfect for a getaway. We were a family party of adults, there to celebrate a two birthdays. We all donned our white dressing gowns and were in an out of the sauna and hot tub continuously. We live only 45 minutes away so the breath-taking countryside was no surprise to us, but to anyone coming to north Yorkshire for the first time, it must truly be an added bonus. We did a couple of trips into Helmsley and Pickering but we didn't venture any further, as the lodge was so inviting and relaxing.

The welcome hamper was extremely tasteful, with touches such as Yorkshire Crisps and Whitby Ginger Biscuits. Everything was there for us - dishwasher with some tabs to get you started, American fridge freezer, and a utility room with washer, dryer, iron etc. So we all came home with our suitcases full of clean clothes!

Anything negative are just "niggles", for example the Wi-Fi wasn't brilliant - but who needs wi-fi when you're there to unwind?

We requested one of the rooms to be a twin, as my husband is slightly disabled. Our request was duly met,, but because the beds are SUPERking, not just KING, this made our room slightly cramped once the beds were converted into twins.. Had we known they are SUPERking, we wouldn't have requested twins, and our room would have been less cramped.

I must mention the guy who came every day to clean the hot tub and also tended to any other maintenance matters. Sorry I don't have your name, but thank you, you went out of your way to make our stay even more enjoyable. It was greatly appreciated.

All in all, I would certainly recommend Studford Lodges to anyone and I would most certainly return. It ain't cheap, but you get what you pay for!

Room tip: If booking a twin, as for the largest bedroom - they do differ.
