“Quaint, convenient and cosy”
Reviewed 11 June 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We recently stayed in La Petite Poire for eight nights and found the one to be exactly what we were looking for. The kitchen is simple, fresh and well-equiped with everything you could need for self catering accommodation. The adjoining lounge and dining room, (one space really on the lower lever of three) were comfortable and decorated in a homely style. On the first level is a spacious double bedroom with new ensuite. The home is quiet and warm with thick rendered stone walls and heating. The location in the tiny hamlet of Trausse is very convenient to local wineries and areas of historical interest. Local towns such as Caunes-Minervois, Carcassonne, Homps and Tribes are a short drive. There is a lot to discover within the Aude region and with Spain a short distance away, a day trip for a seafood lunch is achievable! Finally, La Petite Poire was beautifully clean with lovely linen, rugs and cushions, as well as secure with on street parking very close by. An excellent space for a restful stay - highly recommended.

“Home away from home”

Quaint, comfortable, newly renovated. All the comforts of home. A great base to explore the Minervois and Cathar areas. Wines exceptional, abundant choice and cheap. Only one local restaurant now, but great food. Very good eating in nearby towns. Supermarket 5kms away and all utensils here to create your own French food.... Even a cookbook! Catch the local bus to Carcassone for a true experience (the timetable is a challenge though!) A great place to relax and unwind!
