“A Delightful Place To Stay”

Situated in a quiet "calle" between the Arsenale and Piazza San Marco “la forcola” is a truly wonderful place to stay. Occupying two floors within a recently sensitively renovated historic building the apartment is well appointed and offers a high standard of comfort for six or more guests. The owner Francesco is very welcoming and the apartment provides an excellent base for exploring the Venice sites. We were very sorry to leave after a most enjoyable week at the Biennale departing in style to the airport from the private boat landing point in the garden - Barca Amore xx

“Fresh, clean and convenient!”

The apartment is clean, quiet and spacious and is within minutes of the Canale di San Marco for all the water taxis etc. Also just a few minutes walk to the Piazza San Marco. There are some lovely little restaurants and bars close by, plus a small supermarket, and bakery for fresh croissants for breakfast! The apartment really was in a perfect position, away from the crowds yet very central. We had a lovely stay and Francesco was extremely helpful and charming.
There are quite a few stairs up to the apartment as it is on the top floor. Would definitely stay there if we are ever in Venice again.

“Perfect stay in Venice!”

Appartamento 'la forcola' was by far the best place we stayed in our recent visit to Italy.
It was perfect for our family of five (two adults and three children from 11 to 17 years old).

The place is big enough to accommodate two families. It is within a few minutes of walking distance to Sam Marco so you can easily get there day and night.

The kitchen had everything that was needed for our family, and the host Francesco is just a wonderful person who was very flexible with our arrangements, e.g. dropping our luggage earlier etc.

Highly-highly recommended!

“Perfect for Families or Two Couples”
Reviewed 8 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Our family of four, two adults (mid-50s) and two twenty-something children, stayed here at the end of December. The apartment was perfect. The living room is large, enabling us four to each haveample space to curl up on a couch to read together at the end of the night. The kitchen is adequately stocked with all the basics and even included waters and a very nice bottle of celebratory wine. We enjoyed eating breakfast around the table and planning out our days. The quite large bedroom and separate bath upstairs gave our boys their own "away" space and each had their own pulll-out couch/queen beds. Given the abundance of beds, and spacious rooms, this apartment would perfect for a family with more children, or even for grandparents in the downstairs bedroom/bath suite and parents with children sharing the upstairs. The apartment was immaculately clean, looks very recently rennovated, and Francesco, the owner, was very nice. The apartment is on the top floor (with fun rooftop views), and requires walking up three flights of stairs, but this should not be an issue for anyone reasonbly healty. Although I was initially worried that the apartment was "too far away", the location was never a problem.Venice is so small, it takes only 5-10 minutes to walk to St. Mark's and we walked absolutely everywhere during our stay. Rather, it was great to retreat to a quiet neighborhood and comfortable apartment at night after spending time in crowds all day. Of the three apartments we rented during our Italy vacation, this one was our favorite by far.

Liked best: Immaculately clean, spacious rooms, cozy decor, fully equipt, very safe and very quiet.
Liked least: Very trivial, but we could not quite figure out the hallway lights.
