At about 1/2 way round the marsh walk from the NT car park you get to the pretty village of Cley complete with its landmark windmill and interesting sea walls. You may not think there is a pub in this quiet village but do not despair - walk a bit past the smokehouse and you will find the George as our party of 11 including grandparents and grandchildren did. I think there was some concern when we walked in but the 2 men who served us were great and also shared their knowledge of the area and especially the results of the devastating 1953 floods.
The food and beer was first rate and I was quite sorry to have to go back across the marshes but we did see a marsh harrier which was very special.More
