“Peaceful, spacious with great views and sunsets”

Just returned from a week at this lovely, comfortable, well equipped holiday villa.

It's located around seven minutes drive uphill from Almyrida beach and even closer to Plaka, yet it feels private and secluded in a relaxing way. The villa was clean and had everything we needed to keep our 8 year old son and 15 year old daughter happy and entertained (including lots of books, DVDs and play station for evening time chill outs!)

We spent tmost of our time around the lovely pool area! It has a stunning panoramic harbour view, with beautiful sunsets!

The decor in the villa is simple and functional works perfectly for holiday rentals.

Our goal was to have a family holiday with lots to do in the area and space to relax and this villa really delivered. You will need a car to drive and get about but once used to the bendy roads you can easily get to great beaches, coves, the lake, the old harbour and other great family friendly outings!

We were very lucky with a week in September of glorious warm weather and loved sunsets and dinner at the taverna which is in walking distance next door.

Would highly recommend this villa and it's reliable, honest and straightforward to deal with owners. Great value for money, especially if you don't mind driving a bit for peace and privacy. We would love to go back! It's really a little spot of paradise!

Footnote. The villa is in the mountain side very much set in nature, so wasps are a bit of a nuisance meaning you can't eat outside especially meat, not interested in sweet items strangely! But they are docile and nobody in our family was stung! However, this combined with steep steps makes me inclined to recommend to families with slightly older children, rather than babies or toddlers.

We stayed in this wonderful villa for 17 days from 6th September, our family were Mum, Dad, Son & Daughter in law and 19 yr old Grandaughter, we arrived very late at night, the roads were quite a surprise but we go there safely thanks to the good directions, we were impressed immediately but when you open the doors and shutters your first morning the sight of Souda bay is mind blowing, each day we saw something different. The villa has everything you could possibly want, the pool is fabulous and because it's away from the villa you don't get any wet mess dragged into it, the views from the upstairs balcony are super day and night, the stars sparkle brightly in clear skies, we even had a red moon which cast a reflection on the sea a fantastic sight. We had a car but really didn't leave very often, we did Chania during the day and at night, loved it, Lake Kournas was a fun day out, best off all was the Retreat Taverna, 2 mins away, great food, more wonderful views and lovely friendly owners who cannot do enough for you we didn't want for anything else. We are already planning our return and would highly recommend the villa and it's surroundings.

“Brilliant Family Week”
Reviewed 9 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Very well equipped villa with stunning views over Souda bay. Although the villa sleeps 7 + cot there was more than enough crockery and cutlery for everyone along with useful sundries. The down stairs bedroom meant that my husband and I could give the whole of the upstairs over to my daughter and son-in-law and their two young children.

Safe self contained patio leading out from the main living area and as the pool is on the terrace below there was no fear of the children falling in inadvertently.

Over all a very welcoming villa that I would defiantly recommend and consider renting again in the future.

“Greek Paradise”
Reviewed 5 June 2014 for a stay in August 2012

Myself, husband and our children have stayed twice at this villa now and would definitely like to go back. From the moment of contacting the owner it seemed stress free as nothing was too much trouble and they were able to give us advice and guidance for flights, car hire and lots of local hints and tips to make the best of our holiday.

Our first holiday there we arrived at night and in the morning woke up to realise what an absolute Paradise we'd arrived at! The villa was tastefully decorated and spotless, plus everything had been considered for guests, with games and films well stocked and pool inflatables etc. Its in a perfect location to get the best views across the bay, the local area has some lovely little tavernas and all the locals are so friendly.

The pool was idyllic and we spent many hours lounging and swimming there, taking in the magnificent views, we came home completely relaxed and chilled out.

The only downside has been its made alternatives pretty high to live up to, the standard of the villa has set our expectations very high and I think we'll struggle to find another villa so well positioned and so perfect!

Absolute Paradise!

“Fab! Fab! Fab!”
Reviewed 5 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

This villa is great. It is like a home from home. It has everything a family on holiday needs. My boys love the fact that they don't have to share a room and the beds are lovely and comfortable. The pool is so well appointed as you get to sunbath by the side and swim with a fantastic view the whole time. There is a lovely little taverna only 5 minutes walk from the villa which is great for a drink while watching the sun go down or has a great menu. It also has a little pool table which keeps the kids entertained. Further down the road are several villages that have shops and tavernas or you can head to the beach which has everything you need and some great restaurants. We visited Lake Kournas about 20km from the villa and it was simply divine. We had some of the best Greek food ever at Markos by the lake. We loved it so much we went again the next day. My boys chose going to the lake again over finding the water park. Driving from the airport to the villa takes about 30 minutes. The owners provide extensive directions to make sure you find the villa no problem. There is a management company that look after the villa and they will happily pop up and sort out any problems. This was our second visit to the villa and it was great going back to the same place knowing exactly how to find the villa, where all the good restaurants are, our favourite beaches etc. We love this place so much we have already booked up for next year again.
