Mohan’s is a landmark in the area. The lovely cafe is located on the road leading from Almora to Binsar. Smell of freshly brewed coffee and fresh bakes greets you as you enter the reception area.
The views of the valley are breathtaking.
We were a family accompanied by elderly folks, so we stayed in the family room located above the cafe itself. This was convenient as there was minimal steps involved.
The retreat has cottages built in steps which are perfect for couples and small family’s . These are pristine and lovely.
Mohans is famous for its Cafe too which serves, Indian, conti and Israeli delicacies . For most of my stay my sister and I found ourselves perched in the cafe overlooking the gorgeous valley, sipping coffee, with freshly baked almond cake to satiate us.
There are quite a few flowering and fruiting trees on the property which make it a haven for birds.
The property is situated just about a km from the KasarDevi temple which is a must visit when you are in the area. Mohan ji also organised a naturalist to take us to the Binsar sanctuary. All in all it was a wonderful experience.
Overall the food, ambiance, the prompt service and Mohan ji’s personal involvement makes a world of difference. Highly recommended if you visit Almora-Binsar areaMore
