Living only 5 miles away we had never visited the Fox so did not know what to expect, although we had heard good reports from friends. We were greeted warmly and after a drink from the bar ordered our food. The fish and Chips and Ham and Eggs were very well cooked and presented and for once I was defeated by the amount of chips on my plate. Please note that the portions are fairly large. We will definitely be back and hope to organise a post Christmas Dinner here for our local Handbell group.

Googled somewhere to have lunch whilst in Brackley and picked The Fox as it was on our way back home. Greeted as we walked in by very friendly staff and found a table immediately. Pleasant cosy area with plenty of room between tables. We all had the chicken roast meal which tasted proper home cooked. The owner found time to chat to diners including my grandson (about football). Would gladly recommend and use again if in the area.

Birthday treat for my Son so didn't raise any issues whilst visiting other than discretely asking why Gourmet card wasnt being accepted on a Tuesday evening. We all had starters which were nothing special ,small portioned and pricey at circa £7-50 each.On the mains, the full rack of ribs were enjoyed by 2 of the party and were worthy of the price but my Son and I had the 8oz steaks which were bland and anemic looking and certainly not flame grilled as done by most restaurants [actually looked boiled] and costing £23 each.Really disappointed on these as i like a decent steak!.Didnt stop for a pudding mainly due to the dismissing attitude of the owner re our Gourmet card. The irony is that my Wife [who recommended we eat here] has on occasions, eaten here after her Thursday night walks with 3 friends and used her Gourmet card when paying without question every-time and without mentioning it when booking their table.Anyway, after spending £186 on just "ok" food ,probably wont be returning in a hurry as better value and presentation of food elsewhere.

Sunday lunch on return journey to Buckingham from M40. Fabulous reception from wonderful staff. Greeted as if we were old friends. Service was swift and first class. Two of us had the Sunday Roast of succulent Belly Pork, with tasty Crackling. Third meal was Beer battered Whale sized Haddock. Fabulous. The girls had puddings of course Eaton Mess was splendid and the Sticky Toffee Pudding looked even better. Stars of the show was the amazing choice of between twenty and thirty specialist Gins. Cotswold was today's Gin of choice. Lovely traditional pub, great atmosphere, exquisite experience, we will be back.
