“Nice Affordable Beach Resort”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2012

We went to Munting Buhangin the day after Christmas and found the resort quiet, and since it was a slow day, we got a discount on the 14 person canopy. First, the beach is beautiful. The water is warm, sand soft, and the swimming area alive with small fish. That said, the place is a bit run down. This isn't America, so we understand that. If you are looking for a five star resort-look elsewher.e If you want an affordable escape-you're right where you belong. Beware, however, that you park well above the beach and have to navigate dozens of stairs to get down to beach level-not recommended for people with mobility problems. There was considerable remodeling underway, so I would look for the place to have a refreshed appearance in a few months. It was a good value and we would go again.

“Enjoyable experience.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2011

This review is also long overdue. My friends and I went to this Munting Buhangin Resort during holy week of 2011. We stayed there for 2 days. Since it was our first time to go to Nasugbu, it wasn't that easy for us to find the location. We were already at Nasugbu when we found out that the easiest way to get there was to take a bus straight to Nasugbu (from Manila).

It was holy week then and it was peak season. From downtown Nasugbu, we had to take a tricycle to Munting Buhangin proper. Only 2 people could occupy each tricycle because it's a steep way going up the mountain (you have to cross a small mountain before you get to the beach). It costs 200 pesos per tricycle (because, of course, it's peak season) which, on ordinary days, costs only 75 pesos. It's not too far from downtown Nasugbu, approximately 15-20 minutes of travel.

When we got to entrance of Munting Buhangin, there's a stairway going down to the beach which was a bit exhausting on our part since we traveled for almost 4 hours. It was noon and we went straight to the reception to get a place to stay. We wanted to get a treehouse but then again, it's peak season and all of them were occupied. We were advised that it's really better to reserve treehouse weeks ahead. We then opted to get a cottage (an open tent good for 15 people, with 4 long benches and a big table) and a tent (enough for 3-4 people) for only 2,000 pesos which we could use until the next day.

The white sand beach was really nice, almost comparable to Boracay's. There's not much restrictions as you could bring your own food and drinks inside. There were small variety stores that were open until 11 pm. They also provide electricity during the night for every cottage and tent. Everything was affordable. There were only 4 of us and we did nothing but enjoy the beach, the beautiful sceneries, take pictures, we got drunk during the night and played some fun games. When we were leaving, we just took a tricycle back to downtown Nasugbu where there was a bus terminal going straight to Manila.

Generally, we really enjoyed our visit at Munting Buhangin and we hope of going back there next summer.

this is a long overdue review. whenever we want to go to a beach that is near and affordable, we always go to munting buhangin. we are a regular customers. we love the place because you can bring your own food. the place is exclusive. the beach didnt have a gate that most of the resorts in batangas have. No strangers that will bother you offering some services or products. pets are not allowed.. we always stay overnight and its definitely worth it for the price.
