“Perfect location, really well presented cottage”

We stayed here for a week, with 2 adults and two teenagers, and some visiting guests. The place is beautiful, the view all around stunning. The house was well equipped, even as far as having the turf for the fire (which was used every night, and very nice, despite the excellent weather)
The view from the back of the house is striking Burren Mountainside, with cows in the field, and rabbits running riot. There is a walk that starts from the base of the mountain (beside the cottages), that leads directly up the mountains, and can be followed as far as Ballyvaughan..if you're brave!
There is stunning Burren flora and fauna and archaeological sites on the way over the mountains, with many photo opportunities on the way..(also some llamas, or possibly alpacas, en route!)
To the front of the house is the sea, and a view of the Aran Islands. You do need a car, if only to access the amazing surrounds.
20 minute walk from the beach, a bit longer to the local pub (with rather lovely fish dishes)
The owners were extremely hospitable and welcoming, and are very responsive: our car broke down just as we arrived, and they offered to help us with lifts to shops etc! An Irish welcome at it's best.
I could not recommend this highly enough (as well as being reasonably priced)

“Is there a more beautiful place on a Summer's Day?”

This part of Irleand is beautiful at any time of the year and in any weather but last year Ireland finally got a Summer and we picked the best week of July when temperatures hit 30 degrees (hot by Irish standards) to stay at the beautiful Fanore Holiday Cottages. The cottages are situated between Ballyvaughan and Lisdoonvarna on the Burren Coast Road. From the front there are views over Galway bay where you can watch the sun set and at the back you can walk up into the amazing landscape of the Burren within 5 minutes. Don't forget to say hi to the llamas (seriously).A few minutes drive away is beautiful Fanore Beach where our kids had an amazing time. The cottages are spotless well appointed and equipped with every comfort. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. We have been on many holidays in various countries over the years with our kids and yet they rate this one, 3 hours drive from Dublin, as one of the best we ever had.

“Clean with great service from owners”
Reviewed 16 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Sleeps 8 persons in 4 bed rooms but worth remembering that this is in 4 double beds which is fine if couples or don't mind sharing. House is very easy to find and has everything you will need from washing machine, dishwasher etc.. It has a rustic cottage feel to it but it was the owners who made all the difference as they had a wealth of local knowledge and with a text or call would be there if you need anything. Some great walks of the Burren, one at the back of house and another at the end of the road. Kids saw fox, rabbits, llama's, alpaca's, horses and the usual cows! so plenty of excitement. Would walk to the fab beach(keep your key out for the jelly fish) through the caravan park across the road otherwise if sun is shining can be a nightmare to fine parking at the main entrance. but definitely need a car for pubs and restaurant. O'Donoghue's pub down the road has great staff, fish was really good and kids loved the home-made pizza. Great few days and would have no problem returning to these cottages or Fanore again.

“perfect house in the heart of the Burren”
Reviewed 14 June 2012 for a stay in August 2011

The 4 bedroom house was excellent for our 2 families. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed - dishwasher yeah! Directly from the house we could start a wonderful hiking tour over the burren with brilliant view to the seaside (as we could see from the house as well). In walking distance (if you like walking more than 50 meters *smile*) we had beach and even a pub. The house is a real good place to explore the Burren, visit the cliffs (what have they done to the cliffs :( ) and enjoy food an music in Doolin.

“Peaceful relaxation”
Reviewed 7 June 2012 for a stay in April 2012

We had a wonderful week in Fanore. The cottages are well appointed and the views over the sea to the islands are fabulous. As with lots of locations in Ireland the weather does play a huge part in the overall enjoyment of the holiday and we were quiet lucky with lots of opportunities to get out and about. The walk through the field up the hill behind the house was a great favourite with the children. They loved that freedom which kids dont have much of these days. They spent hours playing in the river/stream at the bottom of the hill. The house was spacious and had everything we needed.
Mountain View horse riding a must. Peter, the owner, is a fantastic host and will show you all the sites.
Vasco restaurant is definitely a find. It has great local produce, well presented and we love that they dont do kids menu!! The Italian in Ballyvaughan is quite good also. Staff are very pleasant in both.
The beach is beautiful but Lahinch is definitely better for surfing.
We will definitely be returning.
