“Very comfortable and spacious apartment in scenic location”
Reviewed 21 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We very much enjoyed our three day stay here at this wonderful apartment. We were made very welcome by Joan who told us everything we needed to know. Welcome Pack very useful for those who arrive late and don't have chance to do any shopping, The flat was very comfortable, clean, warm, spacious and had all the facilities we needed. We particularly loved the view of the garden and surrounding countryside and were very excited when a flock of pink-footed geese flew overhead. At the bottom of the lane we had a lovely walk by the river and had a very good Sunday roast at the White Bull in Great Eccleston.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed 13 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We had a wonderful stay at Merok Lodge. The cottage was exactly as described and illustrated. We were very thankful for the welcome package that was left as we arrived in the evening after a full day of travel. Loved the garden and all the wildlife. The 7 ducks were a delight. The location of the property is conveniently located close to Great Eccleston and all the shops and restaurants. We journeyed down to Cartford Inn and had a delightful lunch.
The only thing we would recommend would be to have a landline available. We were 2 women from Canada so did not bring our cell phones due to the roaming charges, and were dependent on Wifi. We had problems with the Wifi for a couple of days and then lost it completely that evening. The owners were away so we walked to the local phone, a short distance from the property, and called Joan. She was very good and resolved the problem quickly. We could have used a phone to call a cab or take out.
All in all this is a fabulous place to stay. I highly recommend it!

“Wow!”

Just returned from Merok Lodge. Beautiful place, very well equipped, tastefully decorated - everything you could wish for. We especially enjoyed the garden, the passing wildlife and the wonderful sunsets. The village is so lovely - lots of places to eat. Try The Farmer's Arms or Fish & Chip Shop. Try the local bakery too!

“Perfect!”
Reviewed 23 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We have just spent a fantastic holiday at Merok Lodge. In fact, we had such a good time we extended the holiday by a week and I celebrated my 35th birthday in a beautiful location. The owners Joan and Terry are very welcoming and helpful, we had a personal problem while we were there and they really went above and beyond to assist. Joan has great knowledge of the local area and we think she could start giving guided tours! The Lodge itself has everything you need, all mod cons. The televisions even accept a USB external hard-drive if you want to watch your films during your stay. We really appreciated the welcome pack. It's very clean and comfortable in a tranquil and beautiful place yet only a short walk to the nearest restaurants/pubs/chip shop etc. It's also a great base to explore Lancashire and the Ribble Valley.
We highly recommend Merok Lodge and look forward to our next visit in August.

“Slice of Heaven!!”
Reviewed 18 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

I stayed here for two nights and i must say id have stayed longer given the chance. The lodge was clean and modern. Joan and Terry were wonderful and extremely helpful! The views from the living room were stunning! We ventured into the villages and had a wonderful meal at the Horns Country Inn which i would highly recommend. Id advise you take a loaf of bread as there are two ducks who come right up to the patio doors for their breakfast. All in all a fabulous 2 days spent at this lodge. I will be returning :)
